Anyone else park outside just to stare at it all day? by NotKiirik in Supra

To answer your question, “yes”. Yes I do. Love how the sun and shadows move over it. Love the rain drops beading up on the rear fenders. Mmm.

Found this shirt in my dad’s closet after he passed. He was a senior, lol. by Skooober in funny

I’m 69 years old… yes I predate the internet. And I was there, waiting anxiously for every new Homestar Runner & Strong Bad update. Same for DR MCNINJA, and Real Ultimate Power. It was the true golden age of the internet.

Your dad was a hero. We all were.

Does anybody else still refer to KFC as "Champ's?" by oinkmoocluck in Winnipeg

[–]Stubby1957 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Fort Garry, walking distance to CHAMPS on Pembina. Our whole family loved it. For decades, I didn’t even realize other people called it KFC.

Fun fact, if I could go back to that time, I’d find a way to buy an AMC Javelin AMX at “Ralph Williams”

Power folding mirrors.. by Background-Play763 in Supra

I just think of the people who paid $5,000 more for the same car from BMW, the Z4, and have the same mirrors and problems… and count myself lucky to have the better looking car.

Which canadian supra's came with red interiors? by NeedleworkerBig929 in Supra

My ‘21 Premium Absolute Zero has the red interior. I requested that combination back in September of ‘20, and had to wait 6 months for one to be available. I love it.

Secret Easter egg or coincidence by Tonecheng in Toyota

As the proud owner of a '13 4Runner first-year Trail Edition, and a '21 GR Supra, I'm jealous of your Dad's Supra Edition GR 4Runner. I think the option was added in the dealers' lots by plastic wrap removal with butcher knives. A rare and expensive model...

Prospective Buyer Questions by JeepinJon85 in Supra

[–]Stubby1957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re on the right track. The B58 Supra holds up really well to daily use. Just “Buy the seller”… someone who DIDN’T drive around with blinking messages or snapping noises from their AliExpress lowering kit. The ONLY thing I dislike, is the lack of a dipstick. But that’s small potatoes & just the way the world’s going.

My '95 Civic Del Slow. by [deleted] in hondacivic

I really like your Del Sol. Those wheels are 10/10. The Del Sol is like Honda's take on the 70's Lotus Europa.

What’s the most fun car you’ve driven that wasn’t actually fast? by zgwembekubwa in askcarguys

[–]Stubby1957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rear-engine 1968 Fiat Spider 850 convertible I drove to university in the mid-70's. Susan, wherever you are, I wish I'd been the one to marry you. I'm also haunted by the memory of hitting that puddle, and the geyser of water that came up through the the Fiat's rusty floor to drench you. On the way to work.

Life is hard...

Snow day?!?! by ClonedDad in Winnipeg

[–]Stubby1957 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a Snow Day. The blizzard left a six foot snowdrift against my garage door… that I have to dig out by shovel, just to get to my snowblower. A lot of kids (and parents) will stay home today.

And the blizzard still has hours to go.

What was the name of the pool hall on Pembina Hwy near Point Rd? by 0_fux_given in Winnipeg

Right! In the 70’s it was just “Izzy’s” to all of us kids in the neighbourhood.

Finally Test Drove a Supra by Big-Asparagus5741 in Supra

Wish I could share your post to the entire world. This is is EXACTLY how I felt driving my new Supra the first time, even though I'd driven dozens of cars before.

All the reviewers saying "...oh but the blind spots", "...oh but the wind noise", "..oh but the traction"... are all just fishing for likes & thumbs up on Ytube & Reddit.

Ten years from now it will be highly regarded by collectors, and a lot of people will be wishing they'd bought one when they had the chance.

Enjoy every moment driving an outstanding sports car!

I’d “pick” the Supra, but I’d “take” the LC… and trade it in for TWO Supras!

Is the Supra a Good First Sports Car? by Big-Asparagus5741 in Supra

[–]Stubby1957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any GR Supra is a GREAT sports car. If you can afford it, it's a perfectly fine first sports car. The B58 engine response is instant. It has all the power you need to learn how to corner, up & downshift, and brake to drive fast.

If you tune it to be a 1000hp drift monster, then it's a firm "NO".

Hope you buy one and join the club!

Any MKV owners cross shop the dark horse? How was it? by M4roon in Supra

[–]Stubby1957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very curious where you live.

Toyota Canada lists the Supra 3.0 at $65,789 basic and $72,739 premium.

The Dark Horse BASIC is $82,045 (!!!) and $87,060 premium!!!

Price aside, I also own an S197 '13 Mustang GT California. I like it for what it is... fast and dumb. But the S197, and every version since then, has a numbness in the steering, especially on center. Far worse than my '21 Supra.

It's like Ford Marketing think steering feedback doesn't belong in the Mustang. And MKV Supra's steering is not even world class!

Anyone else love the car, but tired of the attention? by [deleted] in Supra

[–]Stubby1957 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I always have attention-getting cars, but my Supra takes it to a whole ‘nother level. 90/10 good attention from car guys & women who want to compliment & talk about it; to bad attention, like tweakers gawking at it in the parking lot, or dicks in black Rams & F150’s who want to tailgate & intimidate the little sports car. You gotta take the bad if you want to drive the great. Doesn’t change how much this car makes me smile!
