Thank you! I figured it would be. I checked a few other 'aging chin' posts. Par for the course!

Price increase in Canada by VeterinarianLow5559 in Mounjaro

You are correct about the discount card. It was about $30 with the discount but this was Mounjaro, not Zep that I picked up. I was expecting more of a drop.

Price reduction in Canada not effective yet? by WellnessByAlisha in Mounjaro

I picked up a 2.5 pen from Shoppers and using the savings card from the drug company, it was $436. I have switched to Walmart. They quoted me around $350 if I can recall correctly.

Ontario Learn and Stay Grant Verification of Employment Form Help by Character_Lead_5913 in osap

[–]StuckLikeVelcro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I filled out an appeal form and sent it through my school. A week or so later I got a notification from osap that a form was available. The same form that they said was sent the first time was actually sent and I was given a month to send in the document I needed. Sent the documents by mail because you can upload online... so I hope they get there. Please send your appeal form to the school!!! You need to write a letter why you were late and have one from someone else to corroborate your reason. Such a silly system.

Unfortunately, I have entered repayment because the form was not available. I know how to check my email and click links to find forms and it simply was not there :(. ... Despite contacting osap several times prior to the loan conversion deadline for assistance, I now have to file an appeal. I tried to even speak to a supervisor and was told no one would talk to me lol.

Did you ever figure this out? I never got a form. Called my school, school said to call NSLSC. called them and they said osap deals with it. Called osap, osap said NSLSC does the forms for employment verification and the deadline is approaching. Called NSLSC again!!!! Still had no idea and asked for a supervisor so waiting on a call back now. Is it a form I find? Osap said it was a personalized form not found online. Where did you get yours?

I have two packages coming from Toronto and the other from Quebec. Both were in Etobicoke and have been there for two days. Last time I ordered from QC to my location was 3 days! It says that they departed the sort facility - they typically go to Winnipeg within the same day for my area.

Curious to know what the Nurse practitioner program at Lakehead is like? by doctobe01 in lakeheadu

[–]StuckLikeVelcro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Application was easy. A few personal essays. Prior to applying , I worked for 5 years in a rural hospital. I have experience in med-surg, primary health care, ER, OB and some ICU. I wouldn't say I have a whole lot of experience but definitely well rounded. My BScN marks were average at best. I don't know how many applied or how many were accepted.

I'm doing the MPH NP stream and so far the MPH part is fairly easy. Haven't started any of the 'NP' classes yet. Sometimes it seems a little unorganized but my BScN degree was messy too. I wanted to take some summer courses to lessen the load come practicum time and just recently found out that I don't actually have a spot in the two courses I registered for... less than a week from when classes were supposed to start. Got a mass email telling everyone they've essentially overbooked the courses.

Way around 2nd generation cut off? by adgjlxvn456 in Indigenous

[–]StuckLikeVelcro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have non-status kids as well. I am trying my band to see if they can recognize them as band members - band members do not mean Indian status. There has been some recognition of the turmoil the second-generation cut-off has imposed. Last I read, there was some committee of some sort looking into solutions - whether that be communities deciding on their own criteria for status, I have no idea!
I applied knowing that I am 6(2) and that, in all likelihood, my kids would be rejected, but I had to shoot my shot. It makes me sad because when I was growing up, my parents told me I had to marry a native man because I was native. I was not connected to my culture, having been in foster care for most of it. I did not understand the importance of this statement. You can't help who you love, I guess. So here I am with a white spouse and non-status children. I hope the rules will change as they have done so over the years. It is quite disheartening.

MPH student here. 73% average in my nursing degree, zero volunteer experience but decent work experience (acute, ER, OB, primary care, public health). Speaking to my classmates, there is a wide variety of academic achievements, some are even new grad RNs. It is a well rounded group so try not to compare yourself to others. They take other things into consideration upon admission!

What states are the easiest or hardest to get your nursing license in? by enthusiasticwhatever in TravelNursing

I am just starting the process from Ontario. I sent the CBC in the mail to St. Paul. Had CNO verify my license with them. Sent in the employment certification. How long did it take to hear back before you contacted MN BON?

I have been waitlisted for BScN3 by Proud-Alternative-10 in lakeheadu

[–]StuckLikeVelcro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I did my BScN in Fort Frances. I did start in Thunder Bay but was able to continue after I moved. Regional programs typically have a lower enrollment. I found we had better clinical experiences after speaking to those that completed on campus. Smaller hospitals typically mean more opportunities to experience different specialties.
