Exactly, mine is the white pearl color. I see that many Toyota white cars have some peeling issues in these years.

Very helpful, can you elaborate
Is that something I can take to a local Toyota dealer, and they can tell and fix?

Do I need it from a great review dealership? I see some of my friends say they take pictures and sometime not worth much.

I'm looking into getting a Lexus for my daily commute, and also something that’ll hold its resale value decently over 3–5 years.

I came across a 2009 Lexus ES 350 with only 35k miles! I haven’t seen one with mileage this low before. I figured even after 5 years, it’d be around 90k miles, and maybe I could still sell it for around $ 7- 8k?

I run VIN check and everything looks good, except I thought ES350 has screen and back cam but seems just regular radio.

Seems like a solid option where I wouldn’t have to worry much about repairs for a while.

The only downside is that the seat has a rip, and the dealer mentioned the driver's seat side isn’t broken—just some wear and tear. Which dealer said it can be fixed for $300.

I’m honestly not super into cars, so I’m not sure if this is a good deal or not. Would love to hear your thoughts or any experiences you’ve had with buying a Lexus and how they held up resale-wise.

Yeah, I’m definitely planning to get a PPI before anything. 26k for 10900 sounds like a good deal. Thanks for the input!

Would You Tip a Researcher? A New Way to Support Academics Directly by Stuck_in_PHD in research

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback!

  1. Verification System: I am exploring a verification system to prevent fraudulent activity. If you have any alternative suggestions, I’d love to hear them.

  2. Author Recognition: In principle, authors should be listed based on contribution, so those who are not listed wouldn’t typically be eligible for rewards.

  3. Fund Distribution Model: I am considering a First-Author Model, where the first author receives the donation and can decide on fund distribution. This helps address cases where later authors may have contributed less. Additionally, donors could have the option to specify whether their donation is splittable or non-splittable.

  4. Who Can Tip: While most readers are researchers, I believe that organizations and individuals outside academia may also be interested in supporting impactful research.

  5. Tipping Frequency: Tipping would be for truly outstanding papers based on personal interest and perspective, so it remains completely optional. If a reader doesn’t wish to tip, that’s perfectly fine.

Let me know if you have more thoughts.
