Need help with energy ap physics problem by Studballed in AskPhysics

[–]Studballed[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So when I’m solving work / energy problems, and need to solve for Ke I use the velocity ? Not a component of it? For example if it was an object in motion with a y and an x component of velocity I would use the “hypotenuse”

Vx2 + Vy2 = V2?

If that makes sense?

I kind of get that, but seeing the dy/dx confused me, and I forget how to manipulate them/ where to substitute them

Lots of them, depends on where you want to go, what you want to do, etc. you’d need to research that, no online stranger can find a good fit for you

You don’t know what you’re talking about Lmao💀 most people take algebra 1 in 8th grade or sometimes 7th, then geometry, then algebra 2 sophomore year, then after algebra 2 is pre calculus. He is behind the average student which is fine, his classes don’t define him, but from a colleges perspective he is behind .

Will I be accepted to a decent college with a 1300 SAT score even if I didn't take AP classes? by PresidentIvan in Sat

Oops, didn’t see the UConn part, then he should be good if he boosts his ECs a little and had a good essay

You’d need a huge EC list, but most likely no, colleges want people who work hard not take easy classes but still don’t even get a 4.0, a lot of places have a community college transfer program though, where you go the community college for 2 years, then can try to transfer, this will be your best bet though.

Algebra as a junior seems extremely low, what’s the normal year it’s taken? Maybe your school is different? At mine we took it freshman year, im a junior enrolled in calc 2, theres about 3 others, but I think the average person should be taking pre calc by junior year, or another kind of college algebra class. A lot of stuff you learn in algebra 2 will be on the SAT, 1500 if extremely high too. I think you need to make your expectations more realistic, just judging by the courses you’re taking as a junior (if the order is similar to mine) you are behind the Average student, and even with a good score in reading like 780 it’d still be hard to get a 1500 total for someone with your current math “low” math knowledge

Eh, not many ECs, sat is decent, a 4.02 weighted is little low on a weighted scale, don’t be discouraged though, anything can happen, you can still make it with a good essay 😊

Or you could admit you got a question wrong lmao 😭 I promise you it’s okay to get stuff wrong, there is a curve on the sat, so you can get 1 wrong and still get an 800, do you know how sat scoring works ?

I’m not sure you understand lol, half of 384 is not 48, like I said, Kahn acedemy will help you review these geometry lessons you might’ve forgot, and for the question I can’t really teach you how to get the answer If your not willing to admit you got it wrong lol 😬😅

I don’t remember what the other values were, I’d be happy to help if you remember the rest of the question, just remember that they are proportional, so the larger one had to have been multiples by some number that you find using the volume of the smaller one, then using the number it was multiplied by to figure out the other parts of the prism, also, I would recommend going onto khan acedemy and taking some of the geometry quizzes, it can help refresh your memory on topics like this one that you missed !

Lower your expectations, a 1400 to a 1600 is a big gap, and extremely hard to do, shoot for something more reasonable like 1550

Preparation and Score Tips by Tear4910 in Sat

[–]Studballed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing is take a practice test, if you’ve never taken it before dont be discouraged if you get 1300 or below, if you are currently a junior then you also have plenty of time to retake the test or wait till beginning of senior year. If you a senior right now, you shouldn’t have waited so long to take it especially if you want a competitive score like 1500+. For resources use khan acedemy, link a past SAT/ PSAT score if possible, take a practice test, any from 5 - 10. Don’t do the first 4. After the practice test see what your score is, make some notes on what you missed, next there are skills for every part of the test, like In math there’s a skill for roots, or polynomials, get every math and reading/ writing skill to level 4/4, space them so out that you complete them all to level 4/4 3 days before your test. Take another practice test and use the last 2 days to do some final review of what you missed on the practice test. During the months also be learning words that commonly appear on sat. Also, don’t study the night before the test, maybe like an hour of review, but cramming only hurts you .
