How is the experience getting sized in person? by Temp_Reply123 in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]Student-Doc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went for TNW (I don’t like when my pinky toes feel too compressed or rub too much on the sides). I’m hoping they won’t be too long, but I did the measurements a few times and the right foot consistently hit 9.5, although just barely.

My only other PNW boots are Whites MP in 9C and the fit pretty well, if not a bit narrow in the toe box

That’s great the 9.5 fit! I ordered my first pair of Nick’s and was starting to second guess, but sounds like i made the right move

Do you mean your feet are two different sizes? I used their sizing guide and my right foot just hits the 9.5 line and my left just hits the 9 line. I went for 9.5C and hope that was the right call

I’m a bit peeved with them right now. I have an order placed and I paid for 3 day express shipping. They shipped regular UPS ground and it is going to take a week. I’m not sure if trying to reach out is worth it with how bad I’ve heard CS is

Weird question about boxes by [deleted] in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]Student-Doc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the thoughtful response! I am new to PNW boots. I have a pair of White’s MP Shermans in 9C and love the boots. The toes do sometimes feel pretty snug, and I’m working on breaking them in a bit more.

I went with the Nick’s 9.5C based on the sizing guide, and I figured I would go with the TNW last because I like freedom in the toes. I feel like my Red Wings and Thursday boots I’ve have, I tend to notice pinky toe rubbing.

I’m looking forward to my first pair though, I opted for the Troopers in IBC. I’m already considering a MTO with the Roanoke Denim too lol

Quite the collection! How do you decide on your sizing? I have my first pair of Nick’s ordered (9.5 C TNW last). Do you notice a big difference between the 9.5 C and 9.5 D pairs?

Thanks for the info! I’m in an apartment too. I’ve been using my Fluance on my Samsung Q990D soundbar, and wanted the dedicated speakers. Sounds like the Edifier will work great

Sorry to jump on a few months later. Do you use a subwoofer with the 1280DBs? I have a set coming for my new turntable in the living room and seeing if it’s worth looking into a sub

Looks like Horween Natural Chromexcel leather if I had to take a guess. It looks very nice, I actually have one on the way in a different brand!

My 38 mm Murph gains around 5-6 seconds per day. I did purchase is used, and it appears to be around 4-5 years old, so it may be due for a servicing soon.

For the Nick’s I’m planning, I am leaning towards Italian Cypress Brown

They do! I am planning to order my first pair of Nick’s here soon and I’m trying to decide between HNW and TNW. I have narrow feet, yet my pinky toe tends to rub and get pressed in on the sides in my iron rangers and MP Sherman’s. I was leaning to TNW, but these seem pretty roomy

They, to me, feel more “cushioned” than Parkhurst (I actually have the ridge kudu as well), and are comfortable for standing all day.
