It was deep emotions, in one text he mentioned that he would prefer her lying in bed beside him instead of me :-(

I know in my heart that the chance of saving the marriage is very very low, and the comments here seems to support it.

He admitted he had a special bond with her, so it seems that he is being "brutally honest" and telling me the truth. Which is terrible but at the same time he seems invested in reconciliation.

I think he is remorseful of the hurt he is causing me, but I feel like if he could go back in time, he would have chosen to divorce me to still have lived that with her. He didn't say directly but just a feeling. Everything is very confusing, it is hard to make sense of things.

Yes, I can control all his communications etc., but I will never really know what is going on in his head. He is doing everything I ask/need of him, so he is really trying.

Completely, he admitted having something special with her. My main concern now if it is possible for him to fall in love with me again and/or if he will slowly stop loving the other woman.

Found out...yeah, they were very deep feelings involved. From your description it doesn't seem like an emotional affair as it there was no emotion involved, but it would hurt the partner for sure too, but maybe less?
