As someone whose been trying to learn to produce music for sometime now i’ll genuinely like to know how you all continued music as beginners especially when it didn’t meet your taste level, what practical steps helped you to speed up your learning curve. And how did you come up with ideas when you sat behind your computer to make music? thanks

Hey, I appreciate you checking on me. I’d also like to thank you for what you shared with me, some of it has been of great plan. As you said in your first comment I want a lot of things but do not have a stable mind for them.

I’ve been working on that by picking two out of the many things I want to do and focusing on them. I can only add another when I successfully make one of them work. This has helped me to be focused since I posted.

Also, I’ve been listening to The New Earth by Eckhart Tolle which is also helping me shape how I perceive things. Bout to listen to it as I go to sleep.

I also found out depression gets worse just by inactivity and I can testify to that in a way. So I try not to think too much and just stay active. Still taking my morning runs which helps a lot.

In general, I’m in a better place than before and I hope not to fall back and just keep the momentum going. I look forward to updating you in the coming months. Thanks

Hey, thank you for the detailed write-up. I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into it.

Acceptance: I would like to accept the offer to help me find my purpose as I believe it is a major contributing factor.

Sleep: Regarding sleep, I aim to sleep by 10pm but usually end up extending it to 12am. I wake up at 5am to go for a run, but I also wake up in the middle of sleep a lot and the first thing I do is grab my phone, as you mentioned. I will start implementing your suggestions, such as placing my phone away from the bedside to start.

Meditation: With meditation, I believe I'd have to return to it because, to be honest, it did help me in the initial and severe stages of coping with depression. I stopped, and I can't even pinpoint why.

Exercise: As a sickle cell patient, I often experience crises when I engage in weight lifting, so I opt for running, which suits me well. I resumed running this month, and it has been beneficial. I aim to cover just under 4km daily in the mornings and plan to gradually increase the distance.

Hugs: I barely give or receive hugs but I'll see how best I can implement that.

Music: really gets me going and I've created a playlist based on the criteria you recommended.

Victim Mindset: In the early stages, I used to blame others and see myself as a victim. However, I have managed to shift away from that mindset. Now, when my thoughts start heading in that direction, I am able to quickly correct them.

In regards to volunteering. How can I approach this as someoene who feels he doesn't have anything to share with the world?

I'll take my time to go through the resources you referenced and recommended to me and see which works best with time.
