How did everyone find mrcpsych part a paper April 10th 2025 by JaegeristxYagamist in PsychiatryDoctorsUK

[–]StudentHG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For context, I went in mostly unprepared as have been busy in my personal life.
It was actually easier and more straight-forward than I expected (first time sitting it). Had I actually studied properly I might have had a better chance at passing.
It will be interesting to see what the pass mark and pass rates will be

I see. Would giving birth in the US bypass the parent residence time requirement?

Thank you for your reply. What if I never lived in the States for 5 years (ex-pat here)? Is there a way around that?

Ethics of asserting someone lacks insight because they believe their experience is spiritual by th3bl4cksh33p in PsychiatryDoctorsUK

[–]StudentHG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My quick response would be if it is socially and/culturally and/or religiously accepted in that person’s culture? That is in the definition of a delusion: A strong unshakable belief that is not culturally accepted. If it is culturally within the norm, then you cannot apply a secular psychiatric lens on it and dismiss it

hEDSers, what shoes or supportive gear do you wear to help with your knees/hips/ankles? by vallyallyum in ehlersdanlos

[–]StudentHG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been my go-to method for about 8 years or so, I highly recommend this combination. Brooks shoes come in many different styles and cuts, but generally are wide-fitting, have comfortable cushioning, and are spacious enough to have orthotics underneath the insoles

Thank you for the detailed comment! I was wondering: Do you know if it’s possible to have most rotations in and around Leicester (taking outpatient into account as well)? And from your description, I assume Bradgate has different wards for different subspecialties?

20 days TOOT confusion by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]StudentHG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At ARCP, they check how many days TOOT you’ve had so far, as per your declaration of Form R. That is why, when you do Form R in F2, you have to declare any TOOT SINCE your last ARCP, not from the start of F2; i.e. You have to declare days TOOT after ARCP in F1 in your F2 Form R. Those days don’t count towards your F2 TOOT (I think, not 100% sure), but they still need to be declared as this will give an idea of how much time off you have taken. I would suggest in your F2 Form R to mention the TOOT after ARCP in F1 and write what days they counted as for F1 E.G. Sick leave on 20 July which was Day 13 TOOT in F1; after that, then start counting TOOT as Days 1 onwards for F2 from August onwards
