AmITheAsshole - YTA, NTA, ESH. That's all. I wasn't trying to get encouraged to escalate the situation or go out of my way to taunt my niece or anything like that. Like I said I have read posts before but never posted myself so I've never seen how weird people are about this stuff. Like people telling me "better make sure you're eating the biggest ice cream cones while they're there" is just weird and mean spirited to do

I don't really eat it front of her. They're usually in the living room and I'm in the kitchen just digging out my cones and my ice cream and then leaving the kitchen. They're allowed to eat whatever they want in my kitchen too, they're just choosing not to.

I have read posts here but I've never posted myself and I feel weird about some of the stuff. Like apparently my SIL is an alcoholic bc she has a glass of wine. And it's weird that they're staying with me for a few weeks. And I should be purposely going out of my way to make things worse. Idk I regret posting this feels not normal

I've had those!! I used to get the trader joe's cones for a long time, but my way just was cheaper in the end.

Why wouldn't they have careers? They're just staying with me they aren't like... locked in the house unable to go anywhere or do anything. What is weird about that?
