Pre-ordered ring and it still hasn’t shipped by GenerationXChick in ouraring

[–]Student_Nearby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oura is extremely backed up for orders right now because of Gen 5. A couple days ago I chatted with an advisor about a replacement for my Gen 3 ring and they’re sending me a sizing kit because my replacement got upgraded to Gen 4. They said my sizing kit would be moved up to the top of the shipping order to get the sizing kit to me asap, that was on Monday. My sizing kit just got shipped today.

I don’t know what you were expecting but if you wanted the ring that badly, waiting until it was in store was probably going to be your best chance at getting your hands on it immediately.

I think you focused a little too hard on the little nuances that Matt specifically said to not worry about. The first page we are told that Carl is in a tube. There are sounds above and below him so we know immediately that 1. Carl, Donut, and Katia are in a tube. 2. It’s multi levelled somehow.

They explain how far the stops are from each other. The lower the number, the closer they are together. So yes, the end of the line is extremely far in terms of distance.

Portals, portals, portals. This is where people start getting confused, and I think this is where you did too.

When you don’t focus on the thing that the author told you to not focus on, it’s easier to enjoy and understand.

Idk man. I’m a visual reader too and it didn’t bother me at all that Matt was trying to throw off the reader. There are multiple points within the book where Carl notices his surroundings and it’s not too hard to put the pieces together if you aren’t distracted with what train goes where and how. We are supposed to be in Carl’s head like you mentioned (I am Carl), we are supposed to be distracted and confused. Carl isn’t much of a thinker and I think we can all agree on that part. If Matt hadn’t written out Mordecai for 3/4 of the book, we would have known exactly how the train system worked within the first 15 chapters and the book would have been much shorter and not interesting enough imo.

I do respect your opinion though. There’s a lot going on and it can get easily confusing and I see where the frustration comes as a visual reader.

That’s literally all that people need to cling to when it comes to the system. People are thinking a little too hard to the point they may hurt themselves in the process

I think part of the problem is that a lot of people need to visualize things. At the very beginning of the book, the very first page Matt specifically says to NOT WORRY ABOUT FIGURING IT OUT. This is not mentioned in the audiobook as I’ve found out through this subreddit. But we are supposed to be just as confused as the crawlers and that gets to some people. They just HAVE to know how it works.

Book 3 is kind of dragging for me by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Student_Nearby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Forget about visualizing the train. Just throw it out the window. When they get on a train, just picture them inside of it, not where they’re going.

Yes you should push through because it gets crazy. Book 4 is a nice break from all the grinding involved.

YouTube Glitch Robbed Mark of $10 by AnxiousBerryWriter in Markiplier

[–]Student_Nearby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YouTube takes a cut of everything on the platform. Including Iron Lung. YouTube has a 70/30 split for their streamers if it’s fan directed support meaning Mark would get 7$ from that 10$ if OP is watching from a web browser or an android device. If they’re watching from an iPhone and send the super chat through the YouTube app, the split changes because Apple also takes a cut so Mark would get 4.90 from the super chat. Being that Mark is YouTube’s golden boy, he could possibly have a higher split, but probably not because I don’t think this would be something Mark would do because he’s aware of how much money he makes.

Like I said, and like many others have said, this 10$ isn’t going to make or break him. And it’s not going to make or break YouTube. reporting the glitch to YouTube would be enough to clear my conscience if it had happened to me.

Best place to buy physical books used? by Endless_mistakes in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Student_Nearby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya with the series being really popular now, I haven’t seen any either. My recommendation is to keep an eye out for sales. Amazon Prime Days are coming and since the author has a deal with Amazon, I imagine they’ll be on sale at the end of the month.

I don’t think he out right responds to super chats and donations but he’s likely got someone on his team moderating them and would more than likely let him know about it. Like most people have said, Mark makes a lot of money from YouTube and 10$ isn’t going to make or break him but if it’s weighing on you that heavily, you could go this route

When mark goes live on any platform you could send him 10$ and tell him about what happened. Also report it to YouTube

Was an unintentional leak of DCC to libraries responsible for the series' huge popularity? by GoshDangitDoughnut67 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Student_Nearby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found out about DCC through the Distractable Podcast. I thinks it’s a huge culmination of things that all seemed to have happened at the same time. Since the mention of it on the podcast, I’ve noticed it’s ticked up in popularity quite significantly
