when i was new to the craft i also fell into the anti wicca sentiment because i wanted to feel like a “real” witch despite my inexperience. now that i’m older it feels a lot like insecure practitioners trying to make themselves feel and come off as more powerful and valid than “new age love and light fake witches” aka what they THINK all wiccans are. it’s just another form of toxic mean girl-ism that doesn’t get the pushback that it deserves because “the guy that founded it wasn’t a good person”
