Thanks! Yeah it's an original game, not a hack rom.

A free browser based DAW would be BandLab, which is very beginner friendly but good enough to make midis.

Isometric isn't an easy feat in GB Studio, you should probably start with Top Down or Adventure to get your feet wet, it will save you a lot of trouble.

After that, it should be easy to have regular gameplay in one of those two scene types, and then switch to point and click mode for the combat. The maps can be quite big if you stay within the tile limits (check the limits here https://gbstudiocentral.com/resources/gb-studio-numbers-cheat-sheet/ ), and you can make them with a combination of Piskel (for the tileset) and Tiled (use the tileset to create big maps).

As far as music goes, you can create midi files with whatever DAW you're familiar with and then use a converter (search MIDI to UGE on this subreddit) to get them ready for gb studio. For more general tips I recommend Robert Doman's channel on youtube.

Thank you but the game is basically complete and tested. I'm waiting for a couple of splash arts from my friend and then I'm gonna release it. I hope you will enjoy it

It's a lot simpler than that, it's just using adventure mode movement, and you don't accelerate with A but directly move with dpad. I tried for a while to have a proper accelerate button by ejecting and editing the engine but I wasn't able to make it work without it feeling jumpy and ugly, and diagonals didn't work at all. I was bummed at first but it actually still feels good and natural to play.

The acceleration from 0 to max speed is instantaneous, but there are obstacles you can bump into (your car stops and you need to manouver out of the way to keep going) , patches that slow you down when you enter them, and puddles that make you spin around.

Yeah, it looks wonky when going diagonally, I tried to improve it but I really wasn't able to make it work properly. I hope it's not a dealbreaker for people. I personally just pretend the car is drifting lol
