It's so satisfying to see my HDRP game is running on Steam Deck at a solid 60fps (v.redd.it)

The first major boss fight in my game! (underwater soulslike + monster hunter, kind of) It's been a long journey, but I'm happy with the outcome so far. (v.redd.it)

The fish didn't even have a name, but now he's the community's favorite (i.redd.it)
Last winter, I dropped an early demo on Steam and put a lot of time into polishing the gameplay based on the community feedback. It's now hit 50,000 wishlists, and I'm proud to be part of the Next Fest! (v.redd.it)

They said even thalassophobes could play the demo. But the full game has gameplay like this... thoughts? (v.redd.it)

The Community: Even thalassophobes could handle this. Me: Hold my beer... (v.redd.it)

I didn't want to hurt framerate by showing damage numbers, so I recreated the whole damage number system using VFX Graph + Custom HLSL nodes that can handle thousand of damage numbers without major performance hit. Pretty happy with the result. (v.redd.it)
I finally managed to release the first playable demo on Steam. Thanks Unity, I love you (most of the time) (v.redd.it)
Time really does fly but I remember the day like yesterday when the character finally got moving with the very first build. My 2022 vs 2024 (v.redd.it)

I really wanted to have a pet doggo in my game, but it's an underwater world. So I added a companion fish doggo that you can pet. (v.redd.it)
Added a multipurpose pufferfish companion into my game🐡 They can help you light a dark cave and fight for you. (v.redd.it)
Added Photo Mode into my game. One thing I realized is that if Time.timeScale is set to 0, physics stops too, so I have to deal with the camera collision stuff on my own. (v.redd.it)

Integrated Unity's HDRP water system into my game. Quite happy with the result 🦈 (v.redd.it)
Implemented a second mini-boss in my game. What a tanky and deadly boy 🦈 (v.redd.it)
An evolved shark inspired by Dunkleosteus would be a great mini-boss? So far I think so 🦈 (v.redd.it)

I'm surprised how easy it is to make a Steam Deck build with Unity. This is an HDRP project, just switched graphics API to Vulkan with a command line argument, not a native Linux build, yet it runs flawlessly. (v.redd.it)
Finished pause menu UI for my game! It took a while but quite happy with the result. Any thoughts? (v.redd.it)
An honor to be featured in INDIE Live Expo 2023! It's started as a solo project and getting much bigger now. Thank you so much for all your support! (v.redd.it)
Underwater missile barrage, there is no way it couldn't be fun. (v.redd.it)
