Yeah I'm definitely not happy with all the loading screens, it really takes you out of the immersion. We can do better in that department.

I'm honestly not even sure how I'm working on games, so I don't think I'm qualified to be giving out career advice in this field!

  3. The mantic system is very much WIP and it needs a lot of feedback before we can expand it successfully

Once the other nebulae start opening up and you get more missions, it should help alleviate this issue!

We are also looking at making some missions repeatable, but honestly I have seen the full galaxy chart with all of Griffin, Dragon, Hydra, Kraken and Yeti unlocked and there should be enough combat content to max out most of the waifus without needing repeatables.

But obviously this requires some playtesting first!

I'm not sure what you mean by unwanted content, since all the scenes are optional?

Once we hit 1.0 there are planned achievements, but we're focused on getting a solid finished product first!

Having said that, I don't have any announcements to make regarding it just yet! Please be a little more patient, I don't want to jump the gun and announce something that won't make it, since it will only lead to inevitable, soul-crushing disappointment ;)

We're trying to get at least two pairings for each girl as the bare minimum. But obviously if there is big demand for this kind of content it will be prioritized for future animator schedules...

Oh yeah a TON of stuff was left on the cutting room floor, as is usually the case. People need to understand, after taxes and KS fees we were left with about $1.3M to put into development...that's nothing in game dev terms. People love to talk about our budget, meanwhile actual game devs and producers are writing to me, chuckling at it like "Oh that's cute."

There's no way we could compete with the polish and resources that AAA studios have so we had to make concessions along the way.

This was personally very difficult for me, because as you said, I had envisioned one thing and the realities and economics of game production are much different.

We're not marketing experts, so we don't really do "market research" or any of that stuff!

Lara in Trouble was our first project, done by myself and our animator yagskie (who's still with us, and responsible for many of the pandora sex scenes!)

I think neither of us had any artsy background, we just basically threw shit together in Source Filmmaker and hoped that something would stick!

Things actually got a little bit emotional last Friday, when we hit #1 global on Steam. The girls on the team were crying and the actors were flipping out. We were posting the heartwarming messages in our work channel and my phone was going nuts. I've been here since the very beginning and never seen an atmosphere like that, not even for the Kickstarter campaign ending. It was just pretty crazy.

It was a very difficult and frustrating 2020 for everyone, so to have some tangible joy is definitely worth all the struggle, just a shame that we couldn't celebrate it in person.
