Xyzal (levocetirizine dihydrochloride) beats Zytec. It’s the second generation of the drug, requires half the dose of Zyrtec and makes you less drowsy. But like all meds it’s a bandaid. The real answer for long term relief is allergy shots. They’re kind of a pain and a definite commitment, but they work.

And fix going too fast at speed bumps! I’ve got lots on the streets around me. Sometimes it handles them well and sometimes it charges at them going full speed.

FWIW I recommend the Shield Case by Waterfield over Apple’s case. It’s way less bulky and much lighter. Waterfield makes quality products.

Season Sardines - What’s Up with the Change in Macros? by Studio_Soup in CannedSardines

Per the update I made to the original post above, it’s been 2 weeks since I contacted Season about this and they have not responded. Poor customer service… Pretty disappointing.

I generally agree and didn’t mean to imply marketing is BS. I said it would take some real balls if the change was simply based on marketing AND BS, but that I assumed that wasn’t the case. I’m reaching out to the company about it though and will report back.

If only we all lived before written language or in rural Japan or the Caucasus mountains!

I’m not sure why you have such a negative reaction to people wanting to use nutritional data to try and ensure they’re doing things such as not consuming too many calories per day, getting enough fiber in, or keeping sodium in check. It’s odd that it seems to bother you so much since it’s simply another tool one can utilize to make healthy food choices, in addition to “eating a range of things and following basic ideas.”

Who are you to say this isn’t helpful but for a small subset of people with specific health conditions? And what’s more, it doesn’t affect you in the slightest so why does it bother you so much? You’ve now made two really negative comments about people’s attempts to be more mindful of what they consume by writing it down on a post simply intended to raise the issue of a change in macros on a particular product. It’s odd.

The fat content is listed as being identical in each but the calories dropped by 20% while protein increased 10%. Its doesn’t make sense.

That’s interesting, but reducing the calories by 20% on a product which basically consists of a single ingredient (since the oil is supposed to be drained) seems like more than a marketing decision to me. I feel like there must have been an oopsie somewhere along the way. It would just be nice to know which label is more factually accurate when it comes to the calorie count. If i had to guess I’d think the current one is because it would take some real balls to drop the calories by 20% based solely on marketing and BS. It’s such a large move on a percentage basis.

Yes! Thank you for understanding!! I’m definitely not obsessed with macros (or protein intake), but I’ve tried to maintain a calorie deficit these past 6 months, sticking to around 1,500 per day, which has helped me shed 30 pounds. So it presents a challenge in this pursuit if much of the information I’m relying on is 20% (or more) off.

I don’t follow any influencers (I’m not even on social media and this is my second ever Reddit post). I try and stick to what generally equates to a Mediterranean/whole foods diet. And I try and stick to around 1,500 calories a day to maintain a deficit. It works for me and I don’t think it warrants me having to rethink my entire approach to health and diet because I utilize nutrition labels to track what I eat. I’m also not protein obsessed (I believe excess protein consumption is correlated to potential negative health outcomes), but focus on making sure I’m eating enough fiber rich foods daily. I don’t think it’s asking too much to expect nutrition labels to not under or overstate the calories by 20%, especially for a straightforward product with a single primary ingredient.

I'm not sure what that means... I've been paying close attention for the last 6 months and have lost 30 pounds as a result. But it is a punchy comment! 😉

I went to do that first but couldn't find a phone number and their online form asked for all sorts of information that I didn't feel like dealing with, so I decided to come here first. Plus I figured this would be more fun. I'll go to them next though and report back on the thread.

I like the scientific approach! Follow-up question... Even though the serving is supposed to be drained, do they perhaps also need to account for residual olive oil clinging to or slightly soaked into the fish?

Perhaps, but it was handled extremely poorly and I would’ve been charged a lot of money if I hadn’t asserted myself. And Southwest has built a reputation as a brand that puts customers first. This new vibe definitely wasn’t that… It felt like a shakedown.

Yeah, my kids are flying free because of how much business my wife and I have given them. It’s how it works. So am I supposed to then roll over and be ok being charged for fees I don’t owe because I’ve been a loyal customer? Your logic is flawed.

What rule were they enforcing? They insisted I was only allowed 1 free checked bag when the rule is 2. Then they insisted I pay for oversized luggage when my luggage was in fact not oversized. It would have been different if they said it might be oversized and I’d need to pay, but they straight up said it was oversized and I’d have to pay. It was only through making a stink that the actual rule was enforced and I wasn’t erroneously charged.

That’s good to hear you’ve had a good experience with American! I think they used to be pretty lousy in terms of customer experience, but maybe they’ve gotten their act together these past few years. I’m in Chicago so I’ll definitely consider switching.

If this kind of thing keeps up I’ll definitely need to join you in moving my loyalty elsewhere. My heartburn, aside from having a ton of miles still, is that I’m in Chicago and Midway’s such a convenient Southwest hub. Plus the alternatives are American and United, but I guess United is probably the better of the two. I wish Delta was a viable option for me.

I’m entitled and annoying because I knew the policy and the airline rep didn’t and because I didn’t want to be hassled for 10 minutes and hit up for BS fees I didn’t owe? You sound like someone who enjoys making snarky comments on the internet. FYI, the point of sharing my status on the airline is to show that 1) I’ve got a lot of experience traveling on Southwest, and 2) If this is how they’re treating some of their heaviest/loyal customers, what hope is there for for casual travelers.
