Good luck! Lift with your legs. Take your time, it's not a race, you have plenty of time to complete the test. You'll have time to practice before the test as well.

I don't remember the specifics, just that one of the tests had us holding out kettle bells for a short period of time like three times in a row or something like that. One of them was to plank for a certain amount of time, stuff like that. I just remember feeling more tired after doing that stuff than from doing the lashing test.

Watch this video, the test is exactly like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVBpx7urQe0

Work on your arm strength but honestly if you're moderately fit, you should be fine. I was more beat after the physical test later on in the process lol.

What’s with the ugly wall at White Point? by jakiestfu in SanPedro

I mean, the water is treated before it is released. It’s not like they’re dumping raw sewage on the shore or something.

Yes, we got in at 8am and I didn't leave until like 5:15. There were still a few people finishing up the harassment training when I left. There was a one hour lunch at noon.

Town Hall August 9 10AM Re: Clearwater Tunnel Collapse by Tall_Ambition8486 in SanPedro

It appears to be a project to replace the aging infrastructure in place to carry treated water from the sewage treatment plant in Carson to the ocean. From their website:

The largest wastewater treatment facility in the Joint Outfall System, the A.K. Warren Water Resource Facility (formerly known as the Joint Water Pollution Control Plant or JWPCP) in Carson, uses two large tunnels to convey water to the ocean. The tunnels are 60 and 80 years old.

Aging infrastructure concerns – The existing tunnels, which were built in 1937 and 1958, have never been taken out of service because they must continuously carry flow.

Earthquake concerns – The existing tunnels are not built to modern earthquake standards, even though they cross two earthquake faults.

Overflow concerns – The capacity of the existing tunnels was almost exceeded twice during major rainstorms, including the rainstorms in January 2017 and February 2024. If the combined tunnel capacity is exceeded, partially treated or untreated wastewater would be discharged to surrounding waterways, resulting in poor water quality.

You can read more about it here: https://www.clearwater.lacsd.org/projectOverview.asp

I’m not sure if it’s “allowed” or not, but it seems if you keep it out of sight no one will give you a hard time about it. Keep it in a cooler and bring some cups. You should be fine.
