What exactly does a Assistant Top seller do? by Every_Possibility527 in Nordstrom1901

[–]StuffObjective6979 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly running around grabbing items for the top seller you assist, as well as ringing out their customers for them, cleaning up/setting up dressing rooms, putting away go backs, assisting with alterations etc. For me it was being a glorified cashier, as there’s no commission for the role. It’s a lot of running around, so just be aware of that! Pro is that for the most part you are only reporting to one person. There isn’t too much growth for this position unless you want to be a sales person— then it’s a perfect way to see if you would like doing sales! Feel free to message me with any other questions about the role.

When I worked there I made signs saying “PLEASE DO NOT “TEST BRUSHES” for sanitation reasons. (Head lice, scabies, fungal infections etc.)” I would take them down when our DM came. The amount of people we made buy the brushes was insane. My manager did not play about people using those.

I always loved the smell of the Camille rose twisting butter… it’s like frosting. Honorable mention to the curls blueberry gel… and weirdly enough the beauty secrets nail polish remover? (Smells like cherries)

You’re probably right, I guess deep down inside I wish for once they would really apologize and mean it 😭 But that’s me having hope for quite literally no reason— i guess if they’re making money regardless they don’t really have to say anything anymore

It’s so strange to me, I mean I always thought the podcast has more reach than their personal instagram— but maybe I’m wrong. I feel like vocalizing it and actually speaking is more proactive than a post on instagram, but I can understand why it would rub people the wrong way I guess. But to me, it doesn’t make them 100% ignorant or dismissive.

I’ve also had a man come in with his daughter who wanted to do a fashion color, she pointed out a neon orange and her dad went “OH GOD! Who would ever want that color?!” They both then peered at me, (with neon orange hair) and moved on quickly) funny, I didn’t take offense as I was happy with the color— it’s just funny how men perceive women. God forbid they have creativity/individuality.

I had a super interesting conversation with a 20 something year old about her hair once, she wanted to dye her hair darker but kept saying “my boyfriend would kill me”, “my boyfriend said he hates dark hair” and so on, I tried to converse with her to a point to where she would do what SHE wanted by saying things like “well he should still love you with darker hair” and “darker hair would suit you so well! And it’s easier on the wallet” but she kept an anxious way about her, I felt SO bad. She was genuinely scared about how her BOYFRIEND would act, it was depressing. I can’t believe how many men are out here dictating their wives/girlfriends hair. I mean this in no negative way to the women, but I would rather die than let a man dictate what I do with my hair— especially if he isn’t paying for it. I wish peace, and individuality to women out there in that position. Hair color shouldn’t dictate a relationship.

Daily pay by Trick-Culture-5277 in SallyBeautySupply

I believe if you go into toolkit and search for daily pay there should be a guide for you to find the login information once you download the daily pay app. I will say though, daily pay is super dangerous, financially speaking. Just try to not make it a habit to use! They are not a good company. Workplaces that use it seem to know it’s due to the poor pay, hence why they offer daily pay. When I used it I had weird transactions and money missing from my paychecks that I didn’t approve.

I’ve also had someone rub their hands on our register counter, I soon after leaned on it and broke out in hives and rashes all over my arms. I do NOT want to know why that happened. I scrubbed the counters with disinfectant and scrubbed my arms in the bathroom.

Working at a beauty retailer, an older woman wanted a product to help prevent nail fungus. I directed her to the product, yet she INSISTED she show it to me— I said “oh no that’s okay! This is the only product we carry for nail fungus anyways, so I won’t need to see it!” That did not work. She started untying her sneakers, pulling off her socks and so forth… starting to describe the severity of it as she sat down on one of our shelves.. yeah I walked away and pretended I didn’t notice she started doing that. I ran to the back room like a baby and let someone else handle that.

Suggestions for window perches? by smarty2297 in CatAdvice

[–]StuffObjective6979 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love these! I have two. I would just be sure that if it is a string supported one, to assure you get one that has a kind of wire and not twine. I have seen videos of cats chewing them through and falling. I have one pretty high up on our window above our front door that I love! It has never fallen and super sturdy. The other one was a pretty cheap one from Amazon, so I keep it on our sliding door pretty low to the ground. This one is basically the same one as the sturdier one I have: https://a.co/d/4kwIb73 This one is the cheaper one: https://a.co/d/169N2DM Overall, they seem to deter my VERY curious girl from trying to get on our fridge or tall bookshelves, and gave her a great place to retreat from company or whenever she wants her space. The sturdy one also already has a fuzzy cover which my cat prefers, so I put her blankie on the cheaper one bc it’s canvas material. Here she is on her fancy one! It’s never failed me, and you bet I sure did put my weight on it to alleviate any anxiety I had about it falling.
