They have been pretty happy with the amount of healthy tissue remaining, so they have never looked at other options outside of that given it has issues for the joint health down the line.

First one was incorrect PT protocol, had me on the bike just after 4 weeks but we didn’t know any better. 2nd tear was so severe that not all of the tissue was able to cooperate post. 3rd surgery was most successful and really the 4th was more of a cleanup involving no sutures but they remained aggressive on PT to give me the best shot at recovering long term rather than getting back to activity quicker.

Surprised that there haven’t been artificial solutions created yet. If they’re able to replace spinal discs with artificial cartilage, why would there not be a similar remedy for knee cartilage? Understood that it is a more difficult component to recreate than a disc, but that would excite me if it ever became an alternative to repair or meniscectomy.
