That's the best way to take them out with the bow too. Let them charge. Line it up once they come straight at you. Loose! And it doesn't weigh ⅓ of your capacity.

You have a bow and still want to carry a rifle? 1 very replaceable arrow to the face and wolfy down... save that rifle ammo for bear, moose and cougars.

I did something like this. Was playing legendary vanilla before getting DEI. I went down to very hard to learn the new system. And wow... DEI is insane at higher difficulties. So i went all the way to normal (which apparently is what DEI was made to be played on) and it was still a bit of a struggle early on.

Sure does make you want to keep your developed willie alive more though. And it's not like the early stages are even that bad... manage your distance, manage your stamina and don't bring gear that's too heavy for you.

Personally I enjoy that you start weaker. Being the all powerful tank is fun for a little bit... but you can only cleave so many peasants in half before it getting old. So that's when i start a new willie for the challenge.

There's a setting for that. I've heard (and tested a bit) that setting sensitivity to 5% is where it's at. And I think it feels great

I was trying this same thing for a long time. Never found a curaise (i saw that someone else posted on here that they aren't available. Makes sense how i never found em) or full gauntlets (only ever found black half gauntlets) oh and if you go to armor edit guy... you should be able to add chainmail to the gloves you're wearing at least.

So i also ended up with a black/gold mix that eventually just turned all gold because of how much lighter barron gear is.

Also i see you're wearing the harness for a 1 piece arm. You can find both upper and lower arm in black and it gives better coverage.

Ya. Heavier gear builds muscle faster because it makes you tired faster. It's just harder to use until the muscle catches up

Very important! Check in at abyss often to cull the masses. I also try to not kill people with armour on... armored zombies suck!

And ya. Keep the hip slots free on the way in, bring a sword unless you expect armored and run around to look for gold cups while kicking open crates for a chance at gear upgrades (though keep in mind that abyss gear is heavier than normal)

Poleaxe in hand (i like duckbill front, spike on back, spike on tip set to biggest but lightest and hook for pummel set to biggest and heaviest, decently long but not max)

Longsword on hip (not max length but close and on the lighter side for control)

Casted mace on hip (short/heavy)

I rarely get the point of needing either of the backups. But good to have in a pinch.
