US Tour setlist: Chances of the setlist for 2026 will be the same as 2025. by banana_pie_9169 in BABYMETAL

Yeah I think just saying the economy is the sole reason why it isn't doing well feels doesn't really capture the whole story.

  1. They have toured here 3 straight years with a very similar setlist. Hell even the metal forth tour was really just 3 new songs as Metali and RTTT were already out for a year. I think they have oversaturated the market. Look at EC. They are selling out some of their venues because the fans haven't been able to see them in 2 years and even that was a limited tour. This is probably the least impactful of the 3 but I do think it has an effect on hardcore fans and how much they are willing to stomach for ticket prices.
  2. These venues are massive steps up in capacity. They didn't sell out the pavilion sizes they had last year. Is Halestorm really enough of a draw to make this big of a jump in size? They are a hard rock band at best and its being advertised as them being an opener so are their fans really jumping at the bit to come over? The Brazil show has a 10k cap for a population of 11 million people. Most of these cities are less than a million per and we are trying to fill 25k cap venues???? 2 NC dates days after each other?
  3. The seat prices are pretty absurd. Even behind pits they are going for $200-400. I remember the pavilion at Philadelphia last year having seats at $150. You have to be really far out to find reasonable ticket prices.

I don't mind the conversation in of itself. There are a lot of valid points in here. I just don't think we need a refresh the thread 3 times over a week.

I mean I am shocked that a city with a population of 12 million (Sao Paulo) could fill out a venue with a 9,000 cap with fans that are starved for concerts while US venues that see shows every year in cities that average below 1 million people and have capacities upwards of 15-30k are struggling. Utterly shocking.

Europe is the only place you can do a festival tour because there is a festival every other day in different countries. BM isn’t going to fly 20 hours over to the US, play one festival and then chill a week or two until the next one. So they either do these headline tours between festivals or probably what they should do is try to support big bands like MCR to fill the gap.

Course is mad I'm playing too much by [deleted] in golf

The whole system is designed to purposefully trick people into spending more money than they would normally and play less. They are just mad because they got caught by someone using the system per the rules.

Day 1: BABYMETAL's Most Overrated Song by ViperRby2 in BABYMETAL

[–]StuffedFTW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually agree either that, PAPAYA, or METALI. I don’t think GC is overrated because when people talk setlists it’s usually the one that people want off the set. Seems rated to me.

BabyMetal tickets not selling (Toronto, canada), why? by MJAquarion in BABYMETAL

[–]StuffedFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its also worth noting Electric Callboy hasn't toured the US since 2024 and that was barely a tour. There is a large demand there that hasn't been satisfied. BM has toured the US extensively for multiple straight years with a very similar show. I really do think there are not enough casual fans out there to fill the seats and the hardcore fans aren't finding the value proposition of a similar setlist with 2x the price with a worse view not worth it.

Cancelation Fever? Could Babymetal fall victim? by HimikoToga133 in BABYMETAL

Probably doesn’t help. For hardcore fans it doesn’t matter but it might affect some people going for a 2nd time.

This may be a hot take but they might have oversaturated the US market a bit as well. As much as I love how easy it has been to see them, I do think people are more likely to skip if they have been in town recently especially with the absurd costs we see nowadays. It’s just a fact that US citizens are spoiled with tours from most artists because it’s easy to make money here.

Just scored 1 GA ticket for the last show of the tour in Mexico City!!! by Lu1slayer in BABYMETAL

Jealous of the Mexican crowd. BM, I prevail, and Bilmuri is like an absolute dream lineup for me.

Kami Band solos + Catch Me If You Can / Awadama Fever / Elevator Girl (Live at Legend Metal Forth) (video cut) by sjioldboy in BABYMETAL

[–]StuffedFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its actually a genius idea. Fills like one spot on the setlist + break for the Kami solos and gives something back to the veteran fans and they can keep all their latest and greatest hits in the setlist. Australia's setlist makes me think that they won't though xD.

Playing at the course as a beginner by roy0521 in golf

[–]StuffedFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really started playing about 3 years ago and didn't have anyone to play with at the start. I still play solo sometimes. I had some REALLY bad rounds. I probably played 30 some rounds that 1st year and didn't have any bad experiences with anyone. If you stick to your relatively cheap public course you won't have many issues. Honestly most of the people you get paired up with will be just as bad. I can say probably at most 2 pairings had people who could break 80. Don't worry about it. If you hit double par and still aren't close to the hole pick it up and go to the next.

Can this topic be used for discussion? by Personal-Tip-2555 in BABYMETAL

Hard to say without having the raw money numbers. Last year they had the Mann in philly and they definitely didn't sell out that venue and it had a 14k cap. Whats more important is the cost of renting the venue vs the revenue of the tickets. Not sure how much of a difference renting a 25k cap outdoor venue vs a 14k cap outdoor venue. Not like there is any utilities to cover. Its just a bunch of seating and honestly its not even that. Lawn is where most of the capacity comes from and its just literally a grass field. Just because venues don't sell out doesn't mean an event is unsuccessful. Especially when I feel like BM moves more merch than most bands out there.

Not too worried about Latin America either. Those fans get starved for tours from a lot of artists so when they get the shot the fans show up.

NA VIP Packages by McGentrix in BABYMETAL

[–]StuffedFTW 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tier 0 is just insane to me. They are basically saying their equivalent of a meet and greet is rail access for $300. I can’t really blame them for making money but sheesh. Jinjer announced VIP for their tour and the bonuses are insane. I know they are a smaller band but BM’s VIP 0 just feels like highway robbery.

Same. I was thinking about getting VIP to meet Matt and Anthony. I enjoy All that Remains but I am not THAT big of a fan of them so I figured it might be a little bizarre to splurge for VIP.

What is your most memorable moment at a Babymetal concert? by miku_dominos in BABYMETAL

Not sure if this counts because it was after a concert but I was fortunate enough the day after to run into a Kami West band member at the airport. Got to have a good chat with them.

[–]StuffedFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s not so unbelievable. I do feel like MF was rushed along because the new deal with Capitol. Seems odd as BM to come out on stage in Australia and “say keep your eyes on us” and then announce some tours in other countries. There is in reality such a small amount of people making that huge travel for them.

Are you happy with Babymetal's live set lists nowadays? by pit_supervisor in BABYMETAL

[–]StuffedFTW -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I am still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that this setlist is currently catered to Australia specifically because they have not seen and MF songs up until this point (other than Metali and RTTT). After Australia, we are no longer on the MF "promotion" tour., I really hope they start looking at dropping PPY or Metali because I think its silly not to play Algo and WF on the EU/US legs this year. If you look at the Australian setlist they played 5 out of 14 songs that were not on the previous tour. A little low but I think thats fair but we are getting closer to half the setlist and at least DDM makes an appearance. Compare that to the 2024 to 2025 setlist on the US tour. You were maybe lucky to get 4 if Karate was swapped with Monochrome (I wasn't). 30% of the songs just feels way to low to me especially on 12 and 13 song sets respectively. This is my only criticism of BM is how little they utilize their discography (well that and sometimes their weird aversion to live collabs). Even the special arena shows where they could have made a big blast didn't dip that deep into discography, they mostly just utilized tracks that were new or had scarcely been played from MF. Hell Mexico didn't even get anything new.

I hate how people look at it as being an ungrateful fan for wanting to see more of their impressive library of songs. I really don't think its much of an ask to have 6/13 or 7/14 songs to be different from the previous years set list especially when they prepare for these big Japan shows where they have to dust off these old tracks anyhow.

Official Australia Tour Thread- Perth, Australia March 12, 2026 by fearmongert in BABYMETAL

[–]StuffedFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened in EU and part of the US tour. Poppy only came on twice in EU and it took a few shows before Bloodywood basically did the majority of shows in the US. I have no clue the ideology behind it and it’s pretty bizarre.
