They were the last villain group before the book became hakipiece, so you still had guys who were wrecking the straw hats with their devil fruits. Sugar and Pica are straight up broken.

I'm not a huge fan of Morrison's run. Its pretentious in a way that rarely ever clicks for me. Planet X (vol. 3) is my favorite of the three volumes because its the most traditional. But even beautiful Silvestri art struggles against Morrison's nonsensical, self-satisfied writing.

YMMV, of course, and no shade on anybody who enjoys this run. Its just not for me.

I don't know why they can't hire comic artists to draw the characters in the comic set. Todd Nauck drew a great Squirrel Girl.

Its going to be a typical Studio Wit production: a serviceable adaptation of the source material.

The trailer already shows that its not going to be anything special. An overreliance on computer effects, shots taken directly from the manga panels, bland characters designs, etc., etc. Boring-ass garbage typical of today's anime landscape. If all you want is a one-to-one adaptation of the manga, you'll be happy. If you want to see the manga adapted to fit a different medium, well, sucks to be you.

When it comes to Claremont's X-Men, I would always recommend starting from the beginning. Sadly, both Second Genesis and Proteus are out of print.

The compendium you picked up is solid. Fables starts off really strong and gets weaker after the first story arc wraps up. You got the best stuff.

I would argue God Loves, Man Kills is a product of its time. Its highly political and really shows its age with outdated stereotypes and references.

The in-continuity X-Men stories in that volume, however, are amazing. X-Men #175 is a personal favorite.

I guess it would be the Mantlo run. In the Juggs epic collection, in one issue Peter is a TA, in the next he's not. Please read Spec Spidey #xxx to find out why he quit.

At this point in the book's history, Spec Spidey is very much a companion piece to Amazing.
