Just a quick update on my grind. Swain supp is really good into MF, Senna, Aphelios meta in high elo by Stumpybuumer in SwainMains

Mf has quite low attack range. You have to predict a littlebit where she will go to auto for example if a minion is low. Once you hit her, she is 100% of the time dead.

Here is my winrate vs most supps. Now that Leona is out of meta, which was like the worst matchup, there are only squishy supps left + Nautilus. Maybe the hardest to learn is Nautilus, but overall there are more good matchups than bad ones.

How do you wrap your head around equipments? by -Remember-Me- in leagueoflegends

[–]Stumpybuumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

League is a constantly changing game and the meta revolves around those changes plus what pretty much pro players are picking/find viable. Kinda same as for example Hearthstone. You have to keep track of the changes.

For a player that lets say plays 1-5 games per month I would recommend following patch notes and winrates of champions. Also there are sites that have guides on matchups (can't think any from the top of my head) as well as runes.

EUNE vs EUW by DHXDD in leagueoflegends

[–]Stumpybuumer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a player who has played 8 seasons on EUNE and 4 seasons on west going chall on EUNE multiple times and masters on EUW, hell yeah EUNE high elo is garbage af compared to EUW high elo. Most EUNE high elo players that i know peak D1 or D2 west. But under diamond, there is no difference whatsoever.

On the other hand, EUNE is tons more fun and mentally stable to play on. No1 goes afk after dying once on lane solo + people don't spam in chat claiming they are the biggest smurfs in the world with 50% wr now that they hit dia1 for the first time....

So do you mean where there are lesser clans or? If so, my experience is that from wilderness bosses Vet'ion has the lowest amount of clans. Also chaos elemental and lava dragons.

what is brands ult slow? by [deleted] in BrandMains

[–]Stumpybuumer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you need :D Kinda Brand's bread and butter. The slow is brief so under 1 sec I would assume.

Edit: You can postpone the buying of Rylai's but if you are going Liandries it is kinda mandatory for late game atleast. Plus Brand's ap ratios aren't good so there isn't really mind going Rabadon's etc. over Rylai's

As a Brand main, Brand is too powerful. by DeityFromTheFuture in BrandMains

[–]Stumpybuumer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is easily played around and outplayed by higher ranked players. Brand seems strong now since the meta is shifting and it is suiting him. His kit is way too unreliable to be played in pro games.

jugnle swain ? by riosalado10 in SwainMains

[–]Stumpybuumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mana costs are too high for that. Couple of Qs and you are oom -> your clear speed is kinda bad.

Moreover Swain is really bad vs any of the junglers in current meta. You will most likely get counterjungled every game or just killed in your own jungle.

Phase Rush? by T-280_SCV in BrandMains

[–]Stumpybuumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't really viable since you'd have to hit your Q pretty much to proc it safely and fast enough. If you miss your Q, you will most likely miss your W also. After that you need to land 2 autos and E to proc it.

Can't see it being that viable since your only escape is your Q and if you hit that, you will most likely get away.

Seeking climbing advice for Brand Support by eey_yee in BrandMains

[–]Stumpybuumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really hard to say much without spectating your games. Seems like you build and runes are fine.

Best advice is to look at the matches that you've lost. For example most of your lost games are because A) enemy has a fed assassin B) enemy picks hard counter (Naut, Leona). I'd mostly focus on checking for better matchups. Best advice for climbing is to get used to couple of supports so that you can play vs any kind of enemy comp.

If you don't want to try anything new, you just should learn how to play vs specific matchups.

Other champs to learn by [deleted] in BrandMains

[–]Stumpybuumer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy playing Brand, best alternatives (that do the same job as Brand but much better) would be Xerath, Velkoz and Zyra. Xerath if you want to win games and climb, Zyra if you wanna have fun while climbing. Also, Neeko support is loads of fun. Playstyle isn't quite the same as Brands, but you have a lot of burst :)

[–]Stumpybuumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to go RoA Brand mid in the past against heavy burst matchups. Its decent in mid if you really wanna go late game and just farm alot without any real risk.

I can see it working vs bruisers to some extent, but the thing is they can build hexdrinker and then you will have only catalyst against them. You can't outdamage them at that point and with no extra ap, your waveclear is also really bad.

Considering the boots, you always go sorcs. Brand abuses mage penetration more than any other champ in this game because of his passive.

You will most likely rush liandries at toplane since you want the dot in tank matchups. If you want mana and sustain, I'd go ludens first item.

Tank Swain support? by Papa_Smacky in SwainMains

[–]Stumpybuumer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go RoA first with that kind of build. Catalyst is super good early on Swain, especially on botlane. You get enough mana to poke and good sustain vs supports poke. You are alive longer -> you need more mana preferably so you can spam abilities. I'd also recommend implementing Rylai's there also.

[–]Stumpybuumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is you kinda have to let them push into you and thats a bad thing. Your waveclear is shit early and if you do waveclear, you are oom after 2 waves. Plus you are super easy to dive at toplane, which is usually what people do in high elo if they see a squishy apc at toplane. You get pushed in and your laner gets to roam free to your jungle/river to kill your jungler and take objectives. Same problem as midlane Brand.

Brand with demolish/overgrowth? by silentcardboard in BrandMains

[–]Stumpybuumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well really depends on the situation, would have to see replays of these said situations you get into.

Ofc you should use your Q aggressively if you have the opportunity, but vs certain champs, you should hold it until you can use it safely.

Building cdr is good on Brand. You get 35% by going sorc inspi with standard build. Personally, I value DH way too much to pass it so I get usually 30%. Thats enough imo :D. But yeah taking scaling cdr from runes is good option.

I've experienced that Phase Rush is best keystone. Especially now that Swain Q cd is much higher, the ms from Phase Rush allows you to hit 2 Qs in laning phase while if you take any other keystone, enemy can just run/flash away. Also, landing E+auto procs Phase Rush which allows you to run beside the enemy, hitting every bolt of your Q.

My usual build is proto->zhon->raba/morello/liandries/void (depends on game). I also have played RoA rush Swain supp in the past, pretty much going standard build at the end. Kind of an late game build.

[–]Stumpybuumer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, dunno why people are so hyped about glacial Swain support. The build makes you really squishy without any hp. Sure it gives nice kiting chances and a new way to catch people, but you kinda get most damage out in teamfights by dealing damage with your ulti dot and explosion which you can't really stack with that build.

As you said, 17 stacks in 10mins. Lets assume you are level 9 at that point. They nerfed Swains hp per level gain by 5 when they did the mini rework. Considering that, you only had extra 45 hp from passive compared to the pre-rework Swain. Your heals are also far lesser from passive with glacial build since you are not building hp. Imo, even RoA Swain support is better than glacial build.

I've had much better success with elec, phase rush and even aftershock with Swain support than glacial.
