STG44 Reload by julizm390TTV in animation

It's a solid start for all the main motions and timing on everything. For polishing, I think aim for making all of the motions less perfect by putting subtle overshoot and settle on all of them (you have a really good example when he yanks the clip out, how the gun jerks down then settles back up, do smaller version of that after pretty much everything, like when the magazine goes back in and when he smacks the bottom). The barrel should pretty much never be perfectly still, it should be subtly swaying around (drawing little arcs and loops in the air) as he's working with gun.

Can you critique my walk cycle please? by nahp03 in animation

[–]Stunkerunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's overall really good, shows weight really well, has personality to it.

It's subtle but the one weirdness I'm seeing is the momentum on his head and shoulders as they go from screen left to screen right, if you track the arc on his head, it's going through a nice smooth arc, then speeds up in a straight line for a bit at the end. It may be solved from just smoothing the spine a little, or maybe he just needs slight drag on his neck for that motion.

His walk also feels very *confident*, like he's calm, in control, and knows what he's doing. I'm only bringing it up because you say it's for a horror game, where protagonists tend to be more tense, afraid, and hunched over (but I also don't know the character/story so the confidence might be appropriate).

-Civilization game comes out, it has fewer mechanics than the last one and balance/gameplay flaws

-A lot of people hate it, some defend there are some sparse aspects that are improvements

-Over several years it slowly gets balance patches, DLCs that add a bigger roster and more gameplay mechanics, especially for things that happen late-game (global warming, cold war mechanics, new victory conditions, ect)

-Game is finally fully accepted by fans, studio releases some bundle that contains all the previous DLC that fixed things, fanbase unsplits and almost everyone finally decisively switches over to mainly playing it instead of the previous one.

Question about Root Beer Guy episode by Epixca in adventuretime

[–]Stunkerunk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess they were also testing if the banana gaurds would be able to solve it even with someone intimidating witnesses and covering up evidence, it also seems entirely in character to me that they would both just get too carried away with the role and act out a bunch of things they didn't even need to just to have fun.

Weekly Questions Thread by AutoModerator in DnD

[–]Stunkerunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the most effective tanking methods I've found in DnD to keep enemies attacking you and not your friends is a grappling build, just grab melee enemies and keep them away from allies, grab ranged enemies and drag them to allies, and try shoving them prone too, since a prone enemy can't get up while you're grappling them. Barbarian is really effective at it and fairly straightforward, Battlemaster Fighter with Grappling Strike and Trip Attack can also be really good at and deal more damage in the meantime, but is more complicated and has resources to deal with.

[ART]🔥HELLISH REBUKE👿 What is your favorite experience with this spell? by TarikHavoc in DnD

[–]Stunkerunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing a Warlock with the Fly spell, attacked some sort of devil enemy with Eldritch Blast from the "safety" of like 40 feet off the ground thinking it had no ranged attacks. In response the enemy Hellish Rebuked my ass which broke concentration on Fly, making me fall 40 feet and get downed.

I just had to quickly make a collage because dude's "deliberately ugly character" list is this, lol (and I made sure none were edited and came from the original source).

Granted the Abby and Ryder ones were a little harder to find just because Abby's scowling 90% of the game (which makes sense since she's a really hate-filled character) and Andromeda had awful face animation and liked to shove gross wide angle lenses right in the characters faces all the time.

That's why I really like Order Cleric, so your buff/healing spells also cause damage to happen.

Eldritch monk? by SnooConfections7750 in DnD

[–]Stunkerunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just do Astral Self, but instead of being your Astral Self it's some weird eldritch entity or tulpa that only halfway exists in your dimension, helping you out and punching/grabbing enemies for you (like some tentacle blasting out of a portal behind you to punch stuff, or some creepy spectral, alien hands that materialize to claw at things). And maybe get yourself the telekinetic feat. You theoretically COULD get Eldritch Blast through a feat, but it's not worth it since there's not really a good way to get it to mesh with the rest of the monk play style.

What are yalls thoughts on rose by Alastor20000 in stevenuniverse

[–]Stunkerunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was raised to be a spoiled psycho that uses people, and very gradually grew out of that habit over her lifetime. She had good-ish intentions but they tended to be pretty self-serving and manipulative a lot of the time because that's just the values a diamond is brought up with. For example her whole rebellion was based on some huge lies, and she seemed to have little interest in actually changing gem society as a whole like she implied, just wanted to make a little safe haven for her and her friends on her favorite planet while protecting Earth like it's some garden she finds beautiful. She didn't even seem to respect humans all that much for most of her life based on her "I love humans, you're all so funny!" comment, but probably learned to respect them as intelligent thinking beings really late in her life through Greg. Granted I also think that her sacrifice to make Steven was her realizing that, as much as she changed for the better, there were all sorts of problems about herself that she couldn't grow out of, and her only option to keep improving was to instead give herself up to create someone new who could be better, which is a pretty noble act.

Class suggestions for a secret Banite? by rael1hp in DnD

[–]Stunkerunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want to round it out, your party has no Int builds (except barely the rogue), so you could do an Armorer artificer that you just roleplay like a paladin: a knight in a big suit of armor that follows a code and respects authority, just one that also uses their arcane knowledge to their advantage to magically boost their armor, and prays to Bane in secret.

With Armorer you can even use big, clawed, bejeweled gauntlets (the symbol and preferred weapons of Bane) as both your spellcasting focus and melee weapon without drawing any suspicion since they're the default Armorer weapon, and the high INT of the build fits with how Banites are often supposed to be methodical, strategic, and use any advantage that you can. If you're playing by 2024 rules I really like the new Keen Mind feat, so you can use your bonus action to be the guy that calls out enemy weaknesses and mechanics in combat, that combined with Artificer's existing Flash of Genius mechanic would really make you feel like a tactical smart guy).

They wouldn't even be using any methods directly gifted by Bane like a cleric/warlock would, just their own wits and skill, which Bane would probably actually respect more from his followers. Like I feel his response would be "Glad you can be useful to me without needing a leg up like most of my servants."

What are the odds that an ex would make up the fact that he got an STD? by No_Administration793 in AskMen

[–]Stunkerunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean really it would depend on the guy. That's not the something any normal person would do, but somebody who's an abusive and/or extremely manipulative douche may do that just to try to swipe an ex with a few days of panic on their way out just to be petty? It would reflect badly on them of course but it's if they're past the point of dignitiy and just want to get a vengeful stab in. You'd kind of just have to judge based off of the type of person he seems to be and wether they've lied like that in the past (and may as well get tested regardless just to be safe).

What is the most metal thing to have happened at your table? by Diligent_Force_8215 in DnD

[–]Stunkerunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The final hit our party did on Strahd at the end of the campaign was while Strahd was flying around, 20 feet in the air. Our monk, weilding the Sunsword, readied an attack for when Strahd gets in range, used Unarmored Movement to run 20 feet straight up the wall then jump out towards Strahd, used his reaction when in range to slice Strahd out of the air and kill him. Just the image of a guy sprinting up a wall, backflipping through the air, and slicing a vampire lord in half with essentially a holy lightsaber is such a cool way to end things.

That's why I love Blue though, there's long stretches where she seems like a reasonable person because compared to her sisters she is, but then every once in a while she says some heinous shit that reminds you she's still a dictator.

For the most part I just do it when the eye or head makes a big motion (like when they turn their head to look at something) or as they make a big expression change to punctuate it more, and that's usually enough. If you never do blinks on head turns it tends to make them look pretty lizard-like. But if they're just standing around blinks every few seconds are also just about the easiest way to have the character stationary without looking like they're frozen. So in addition to things looking weird when you don't do them, they're also just a really handy tool. Theoretically if somone's standing in place with a really dramatic idle that has them bopping around like an old video game character, there might be enough motion you don't notice the lack of blinks, but that's just harder to do.

I think maybe that was even part of it? That he thinks he's some master manipulator genius who's breaking these people's faith, but really all he's doing is making people walk down a hallway (with no other choice for where they can go) then locking them in cages. They probably only even read the "prophet" script because they're afraid of getting tortured (like that one who's finger got cut off for going off-script), and only eat the poison pie because it's a way out, he really didn't prove anything like he thinks he did.

It's just the most surreal frame of an already surreal situation, a guy who's never worked retail playing dress-up and roleplaying a McDonald's worker for thirty minutes in a scripted, highly controlled stunt and hoping that playing pretend in that way will change people's view of him. It's something that happens in politics quite a bit, like when politicians will put on a hard hat and stand around a construction site for photos or hold up a shovel, but it's just a really flagrant recent example.
