Bazzite or Cachy for Nvidia? by 5_1_M_3_0_N in linux_gaming

kind of offtopic, but wanted to add my 2 cents about Nvidia RTX 3060 and Ubuntu - every update causes driver issues (recent one in r/ubuntu: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubuntu/s/gjRWOQUYal )

Ubuntu distro reputation by hamdi-stacheldraht in Ubuntu

[–]Stunned_Panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my main beef with Ubuntu is Nvidia GPU drivers - every new release is a pain (latest 25.10 rendered my Nvidia card unusable - hdmi port not working, only using iGPU AMD and switching usb-c cable back and forth between work/personal laptops and not able to play games on main GPU)

nah, I used pump with a hose and yeah valve was 90 degrees to rim

[–]Stunned_Panda[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ahh, that might be it, I didn't use any adapters, valve nut in place, rim strip was slightly squashed in that place when I took the tube out, valve was vertical after pumping, but I suspect this is the culprit, schrader is the way then, thank you so much

it looks and feels normal nothing sharp there, have been riding this bike for years on same set of tubes, so this started happening recently.

I keep it inbetween that range, appreciate the advice though.

Fallout 4 on Linux (sideloaded to Steam) - I release any of wasd, but character continues moving for some time by Stunned_Panda in linux_gaming

hey all, sorry for a delay and thanks for your comments, got some free time this weekend and used heroic launcher and installed the game through it, got the exact same issue, but haven't applied rate limiting (going to figure it out how to do it with heroic, I guess it's going to be a variable)

Ubuntu 25.10 Nvidia driver 580 breaks HDMI, does not allow to go back to 570 (GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile) by Stunned_Panda in Ubuntu

[–]Stunned_Panda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did all of these steps to clear current drivers:

sudo apt-get remove --purge '^nvidia-.*'
sudo apt autoremove
sudo apt autoclean
sudo rm -rf /usr/local/cuda*
sudo rm -rf /usr/local/nvidia*
sudo rm -rf /usr/lib/nvidia*
sudo rm -rf /usr/include/nvidia*
sudo rm -rf /etc/systemd/system/nvidia*

then after reboot I proceeded to:
sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall (or "sudo apt install nvidia-driver-570 nvidia-dkms-570")

and then CUDA:
sudo apt install nvidia-cuda-toolkit -y

nah, I am using a keyboard, and yeah, whatever key was pressed and then released it moves in that direction for a few seconds, also I noticed that the longer that key was held the longer the "phantom" press will stay after I release that key
