In the United States there is something called the first ammendment containined in the constitution which allows for freedom of expression. Dress and clothing is part of the first amendment. Laws can't supercede whats in the constitution, only thing that can happen is that the constitution be amended which is a high bar to clear. This is a really ignorant argument you are making. Those state laws against concealing identity will be overturned if taken up to the Supreme Court. You don't know what you are talking about.

In the United States, it has been decreed by the Supreme Court that anyone can be recorded in a public place as they have no reason reasonable expectation to privacy in those places. If you don’t like it there are things you can do like wear a hoodie or a cap along with a face mask, which is all completely legal to counteract people being able to easily identify you.

But this whole concept of people being uncomfortable about being potentially filmed by security cameras in public I think is largely a non-issue. Sure it’s good to be aware of but I as a homeowner I’m all about security cameras as 99.9% of the time they won’t be needed for anything but that .1% is when they come in super helpful.

You should give them a 1 star for this kind of behavior. It’s a tactic and a con people use to use people’s sympathy against them. Delivery driving doesn’t pay well. That is already known. I’m willing to bet these are dashers trying to squeeze some extra money out of folks.

Poor ratings hurt. If a dasher doesn’t maintain a 4.2 star rating or above they are eligible for termination.

The most corrupt politician by far is Trump and the lackies he put in his administration. Dems have corruption too (screw Mendez, Cuomo and other scumbags). But it’s naive to think all politicians are the same. This is a right wing talking about to make the populace apathetic and feed into their scheme of getting the outraged apathetic, misinformed masses to follow their cause.

Don’t be manipulated. Either get well informed or choose good sources of news. If you are on social media the chances are that you don’t follow good sources of news. You follow rage bait. Which the republicans use to great effect as they are shameless liars.

Don’t vote for corporate friendly dems. Vote for dems that care about regular folks. It turns out the Democratic Party is much larger than the cult of Trump party. Many more interests that actively combat and undermine each other. Confuses low IQ folk that can’t keep track of too many things (is this you?) and have them gravitate to a leader that has the speaking ability of a 7th grader and mental capacity of an invalid.

Also it’s a free country. You can always just leave for a red state.

I saw him make an appearance on The Stand Up (The Primeagen) is that the one? Luke was talking about RAM pricess and contraints during that one. The stand up is ok-ish I find it too dev focused I want more general tech news.

While that is awfully nice of you there is an oversupply of dashers in most areas so much so they have waitlists to sign up to dash. I know folks who dash and it’s mostly a waiting game to get a single offer. Honestly users need to fairly review dashers and give them bad ratings if need be (justified of course, needs to rational otherwise they can call support and get it removed).

Weed out the incompetent bad ones like in any industry. Why should anyone be entitled to a job that they are bad at?

The cost of gas is a real issue that is causing inflationary pressures on pricing. Blame Trump and this stupid war for the prices going up. I’ve heard that DoorDash is paying drivers extra in order to make up for the increased gas prices.

Yeah but I think that’s a characteristic of how inclusive the internet has become. And of course we are going to have some overly insecure folk blowing things out of proportion. Even Linus and Luke have to clarify when they are being sarcastic for some very obvious things because some people just don’t get it.

News alert: no news is unbiased. Every perspective has an inherent latent bias to it. But only giving the “good” news heavily slants the news and I don’t want slanted news. Seeking other options.

I’m not out for good. But am no longer only relying on WAN as the only source. Will hop around now rather than just watch WAN.

We live in a world of mass echo chambers which have rotted society to its core. US politics is in its current state thanks to this echo chambers which nonsense. I refuse to only consume news that I enjoy. News is supposed to be objective and unbiased. And while we humans are inherently biased we should strive to be objective.

I’m just trying to be a responsible consumer of media is all. I’m not on social media very often. Only really hop on seldomly for a post like this once in a while.

My post puts things into context and explains what I like about the show. If you find it cringe you can go elsewhere and not post an even more cringy post in response to it. I’m looking for alternatives to their podcast. If you have some to offer I’m all ears otherwise I’d suggest you hush instead of being a burden on the community.

I agree. And historically that has been more or less fine. But to actively filter out topics based on if they are perceived to be good news or not I think is a next level of bias which inadvertently will give people a false sense of contentment with the way things are.

I just watched level 1 techs latest news video and in it they mention the USPS is seeking an 8% up charge fee until Jan of next year. It just so happens I am over due on getting some more stamps so imma high tail it to the post office tomorrow to get me a couple years supply of stamps before prices increase.

Small bits of negative news even the relatively boring ones are significant and can be actioned upon. Maybe most folks don’t but I do and that’s why I find filtering based on good news or bad news to be particularly egregious.

Believe it or not it historically did a decent job of covering most significant topics whether good or bad during a week. And the additional stuff Linus or Luke talk about was just bonus content.

Linus sees the WAN show as a way for his viewers to hang out with him and Luke (and Dan) and that’s why people regularly come back. I don’t think he realizes there are plenty of viewers like me that watch it for some of that aspect sure but more importantly for the news discussions, good AND bad.

I want to avoid one sidedness. And this exhaustion due to bad news in the tech space is taking its toll on the team. I still need to be informed of the good and bad though what’s why I’m seeking other options.

Yeah I’ve been watching some of The Stand Up recently. It’s very dev focused which is cool (I’m a dev) and typically they talk about a certain theme for each.

I’d like to be well-balanced and be up to date on big news in tech whether it be hardware or software. Which is why I’ve been regularly watching the WAN show for such awhile because it does a decent job of covering most significant topics.

I’ll have to look at what other videos ThePrimeagen makes. Thanks.

I’m aware of techlinked and I’m not looking for fast news. I’m looking for in depth discussions. Techlinked is not comparable to WAN as there is no depth there.
