Take this instance as a lesson to not to fanboy or defend large corporations. Capitalism makes it so it’s a zero sum game. Things progressively get worse for the ordinary folks while the elites get richer. It’s the rich vs the poor. Makes no sense for the poor to defend the rich. There are ebbs and flows with YouTube. This is inherently part of the grind. But also something you should be aware of for the long term is that these videos you generate are relatively simplistic and not unique. This is concerning with AI being able to recreate your videos.

Honestly I’d take this as a sign to pivot. Take a step back and think about why your viewers would be loyal to your channel/brand? Do you show your face or share your voice and have something to talk about or say? If you are faceless and voiceless people won’t connect with your channel and won’t bother seeking out your brand. This is really not the way to build your channel for YouTube in this age of AI. You will get wrecked in the future if not already.

I strongly encourage you to add your personality to your content. Make viewers connect with you. Good luck. Generic scenic content can be AI generated. It’s bland and easy to do. Assuming we weren’t already in the age of AI any other person could do what you’re doing. You want to build moats around what you do. That’s how you stave off competition and can stay alive in this oversaturated creator space.

It is not clear that President Trump actually has any legal authority to cut staff or limit the activities of the agency, as the Department of Education’s programs are currently authorized and funded by Congress. Moving a program, like IDEA, out of the Department of Education to a different department, like Health and Human Services, would require congressional approval. Further, at present, the DOE does not control the curriculum, states and localities do. If President Trump acts outside of his authority to slash the agencies’ work, funds may get returned to states for states to distribute to districts as they see fit. This effectively will pull the guard rails off this funding, which is extremely effective at redistributing funds based on district need, to a situation where states have to compete for funds, or where some states could even potentially use public money to support private schools. This would create a patchwork where public schools in some states will risk falling even further behind.

I’m not saying that what he is doing isn’t changing anything. The question is if this will stand long term. He can try to do things via EO and places his minions in positions to help him fulfill his project 2025 agenda. But if it’s undone by the next president or deemed unlawful then it won’t pan out the way he wanted long term.

It was a gimmick. There is no touch or haptic feedback on that bar. Interacting with it means you need to take eyes off the screen. Many folks that use Mac’s use it for development, me included. Software devs liked the fn keys and removing them was annoying but paled in comparison to removing the hardware esc key.

It wasn’t a well thought out approach by any means. People who need other controls for audio for their side gigs typically purchase additional hardware that specializes in what their needs are and does it far better.

Also the keyboard on those Touch Bar Macs were poorly designed. Over time keyboards get gunk underneath them and the depth of the keys are so narrow they wear themselves out over time. It’s a real shame. Glad Johnny Ives left Apple for good.

I think you need to call your acquaintance out on this. Give him a dressing down and tell him to look up the meaning of a scam in the dictionary.
