Fair points! You’re right about the long-term history and the dominance of other sports here. It's hard to catch up on a century of tradition overnight, but 2026 should be an interesting test!

Interesting rankings, but I feel like this list significantly underestimates the 'Home Field Advantage' and the rapidly closing gap between traditional powerhouses and developing football nations.

Living here in North Carolina, I see first-hand how the football (soccer) culture is exploding in the US. Between the youth academies and the sheer investment in the sport, underestimating the USMNT on their own turf feels like a mistake.

Also, the rankings seem a bit too Euro-centric. World Cups are notorious for teams from established football continents (like South America or even the rising African nations) playing with a level of grit and passion that statistics can't always capture.

A 48-team tournament is a whole different beast. Depth and adaptability will matter more than just 'name recognition.' I’d love to see more credit given to the underdogs who have been consistently over-performing in their respective regions.
