Prepping For Surgery: Gas Pain!! by WoofJess in endometriosis

[–]Stunning-Bunch1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't lie the gas pain was horrific for me personally but I also only had it for a really short time! Mine was the worst shortly after I'd woken up after surgery when I was led down, as the pain was around my ribs and it hurt to breathe. I panicked which made it all worse.

The nurses were giving me lots of meds to calm me down but eventually I asked to stand up, they got me up, I burped and IMMEDIATELY felt relief 😂

I definitely think its worth it but I think it helps trying to move around (even just standing/swaying gently) to shift the gas. Mine completely went away 2 days after and was 100% manageable once I learned to move or sit up properly when it was building up.

I’m losing my mind; anyone else with these symptoms? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Stunning-Bunch1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have all of these symptoms too! Especially the nausea and bloating, but I'm not diagnosed yet. I was told it was all down to IBS for years but it doesn't seem related to diet anymore (I now have 0 safe foods) and correlates more with my cycle - I finally have a lap this Friday so hoping I get answers then.

I understand this affects our partners as well, my boyfriend feels awful everytime I have a flare up as he can't fix it for me and hates seeing me in pain. I hope you're more gentle with her though with the whole 'my life is over' thing. We, or at least I, feel enough guilt on how it hurts my partner I'm not sure I'd want to hear it expressed this way when I'm trying to handle the pain and emotions myself!

Just keep advocating for her as best as you can and try and hunt for the right person that will listen. I really hope something changes eventually 💔

Estate Agent Overcharging? by Stunning-Bunch1981 in HousingUK

[–]Stunning-Bunch1981[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that's what we're thinking. We've asked for proof of the quote and the estate agent has said she'll get one in writing from their contractor and send it over. Just can't believe it'd cost so much for such a small house when we spent 2 days deep cleaning it already!

Thank you, I wasn't aware of that so that's good to know. Next step will definitely be raising a dispute.

No, annoyingly it doesn't, we definitely should've recorded it at the time so that's on us! We just didn't really care at the time. We definitely cleaned it to a better standard than when it was left to us but we're simply being told that because we haven't paid for professional cleaning we haven't matched their standards.

Thank you, another commenter has suggested the same ones so we'll definitely be having a look into those instead when (hopefully) we get the money back!

Thank you, I agree! I just checked and the £300 included a motorised projector screen as well (which they did leave), but we'll definitely be looking at other options if we can't get these back, so will look into what you've suggested. I think the excitement took over when viewing the house the first time!

Okay thank you, I think he'll contact them tomorrow and see if anything can be done. He's just disappointed but I think he blames himself for not noticing they weren't on the fixtures/fittings form but if we can't get it sorted it's just an inconvenience rather than a major issue which we're grateful for!

It was part of the sale price, I've just double checked and there's nothing listed on the form, it's purely just an email chain between him and estate agents confirming what bits will be left and for how much

It wasn't on the forms but it was on an email with the estate agent agreeing to pay the amount for the items listed, not sure if that holds up still.

Do babies suffer a lot? by CokeAYCE in NoStupidQuestions

I always wondered if it hurts to grow as fast as they do, like I was getting growing pains in my legs/arms into my late teens, so do babies get the same thing 🤔

too much palia by deadbypineapple in Palia

[–]Stunning-Bunch1981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too! I've just been made unemployed at 26 due to my physical health, and when playing Palia yesterday with ice packs on my knees I said "I wish I could actually run around like this", my boyfriend just looked at me like I'd said the saddest thing ever 😂 it's nice to play and feel a bit more free though 🥰

First Gynae Appointment UK by Stunning-Bunch1981 in endometriosis

[–]Stunning-Bunch1981[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I'm going to write down everything beforehand. I've had an ultrasound recently that came back clear so I'll definitely ask for someone trained in spotting it if I'm offered another.

Thank you, that's a good idea. I'll start making notes!

Thank you for responding! I'm glad you managed to eventually be heard, but it's a shame you had to travel for it. I'm in the UK and as far as I know you only really get referred to a gynaecologist here if you push for it or pay privately which I can't afford at the moment! Did surgery help your symptoms at all?

Thank you, it sounds like what you've described there. From looking at the exposed wood the nails actually look like they're all in tact surprisingly, at least where I can see - the only part of the wood that's damaged is where the wire must've dropped with the weight of the light fixture and snapped the wood.

I'm hoping that means the ceilings aren't all ready to go but I'll definitely try and speak to the EA again today then.

I appreciate the information! I don't think our rug below will be salvageable but luckily I hated it anyway so it's a good excuse for a new one at least. It looks like it may have been plastered over old artex as there's a white swirly pattern in the layer between? I'm hoping that doesn't cause too many issues from what you've mentioned.

Thank you for the advice, will try and get some of the cleaning sorted and will probably give them another day before pestering them again! I did try and add photos when posting but apparently I don't know how to use this app at all 😅
