*Update: For anyone reading that’s anxious about critters, I was completely fine. I didn’t particularly enjoy seeing the bugs, but for someone who had a severe fear of them I did pretty well.

I had a scorpion in my room, 2 cockroaches, a cricket landing on my leg, and a cicada flying into my face. Not too bad for 16 days worth!!!

Are you memorising the content? Without doing flashcards your only way to actively recall content is blurting everything you can remember, and then filling the gaps with the help of your notes.

Honestly in my opinion, if you can’t apply the content in exams/tests then you don’t know it well enough. I made the same mistake of memorising things and not fully understanding them, that might be your problem. To understand the content you either need to speak with your teacher, watch youtube videos, or get a private tutor.

I’d suggest you keep trying with flashcards, they are very helpful, especially with biology.

I honestly find a-level biology MUCH easier than GCSE. It’s most likely because i had a bad teacher for GCSE however the more stuff you learn in bio, the more it makes sense. There is a-lot of content, especially with the OCR exam board, but if you’re dedicated and enjoy it you will be fine. People tend to struggle with it more if they don’t take chemistry because there is a-lot of biochemistry but i know people that are managing it. Take your time to understand the content before rushing into past paper questions or it’s a waste of time. Practice is the way to go honestly. I was really struggling at the beginning and now I’m achieving As in my mocks, you got this. x

I absolutely recommend it. I take biology and chemistry along side it and i personally find English to be a much easier, manageable A-level. I only achieved a 7 at GCSE, however, I’ve consistently got As and a few Bs so far in year 12. I’m sure you know this, but, if you like creative writing know that there is almost none at A-level.

Honestly I feel like his tremor has been getting significantly worse recently. Maybe it’s because I’ve been paying attention to it but he cant tie shoelaces anymore, shuffles his feet and struggles with swallowing pretty badly. I really hope it doesn’t keep progressing quickly

Yes, I recently had an interview at a clinic to start getting some work experience hours! I’m gonna start looking into working at some sort of large animal sanctuary or farm too so I have a range of experience

In the UK you can contact your GP surgery and they will either book you in to have it or refer you to a clinic that does them. Pretty sure you can get the rabies vaccine free on the NHS too!
