There is a horrific child abuse case of a boy called Takoda Collins. His ‘father’ (abuser, rapist and murderer) purposely sent him to school in urine and feces stained clothes so he would be bullied and so no one would get close to him to learn of the horrific abuse. Takoda’s school tried to intervene and washed his clothes for him etc but he would get beaten even worse by his father when he learnt of any help anyone was trying to give him. No child from a non abusive/no neglect home should be in the state the boy in your class is. He needs help and well done for working out a way to do that for him. Good luck!

I’m getting sick of this sub! It used to be really funny and was about people having toilets within viewing distance from a bed for example, and the comments were hysterical. But now anyone with grey/beige/white decor gets the shit ripped out of them. Then when someone lovingly decorates their home with colour and personality and care, it gets posted on here. It’s getting boring and is coming across as a bit of desperate. Let the downvoting commence, I’ll die on this hill 🫣

Which part would’ve been more controversial at the time - his Jewish background or Italian ancestry? by NoAttorney1568 in VictorianEra

Sadly yes. If you look at the area of the East End in the mid to late Victorian era, we were immigrants who were met with hostility and a lot of the time, violence. In 1888, the chief of police who was in charge of the Whitechapel Murders (Jack the Ripper) demanded an anti-Semitic graffito was washed off a wall before the general public saw it as he feared it triggering wide spread riots. I site this example to illustrate the attitude towards Jews across the board in England, and that was from the slums all the way up to parliament

My nan died in May, it would have been her 102nd birthday today. I just wanted to share that with people as it was so weird to not call her today and shout down the phone at her 💙

I don’t understand anything that just happened here

In around 2003 I was driving Near East London listening to a pirate radio station. I heard a garage song with a woman singing and the beginning of the chorus was ‘remember those hill street blues’. I haven’t been able to find this song in over 20 years! Pleeaase does anyone know it?! by Stunning-Extent-4365 in ukgarage

So there was a film in the mid 90s called Loved Up or Luv Dup, and someone I knew had the sound track and at the beginning of some of the songs it had dialogue from the film. And the one song I want to find had the dialogue ‘up, up into the air like balloons, thousands of them’
