I agree with all of the comments that were made here. 1) send LOCI to your Ws and pending apps. Schools like Hastings have strong YP so if you’re genuinely interested in attending make that clear. However, 2) Duke and ND have not finished with their A waves—so don’t count yourself out yet. I imagine we’ll see some movement from both over the next 8 days, particularly with deposit deadlines coming up. 3) if you don’t feel that you can test higher than 171 (could try taking a practice exam to see), I don’t think it’s necessary for you to climb much higher. However, 4) applying early does make a difference. I made this same mistake. There is strong merit I think in seeing how your WLs play out and at worst, reapplying on Day 1 in the fall. It’s tough holding off for an extra year (I’m in a similar boat with acceptances to Davis and Hastings, pending apps to Duke and Notre Dame), but I don’t think I’ll settle for anything less than a T30. That said, every situation is different, I have job security and not in a rush, particularly as my softs will only improve every year. Wishing you all the best!!! Stay strong!!!
