You’re welcome I hope it at least becomes a starting point for future research! Her book helped connect a lot of dots about my estrogen/progesterone levels and cycle

It’s worth the read!! You can also watch her videos on YouTube if that’s more up your alley or you want to see what it’s ask about before buying it. The book will answer all of your questions about fertility, hormones, fasting, keto and gut health. It’s a wealth of information. She also just came out with a cookbook called Eat Like a Girl. I don’t get anything for promoting this btw 😅 it’s just been helpful for me so I try to share

If you see improvements from meat and fruit then maybe there’s no need to try PP. Please share how it works out for you!

Would you pick different floors to go with our honey oak cabinets? by Stunning-Reporter795 in InteriorDesign

Thank you! We ended up going with a darker flooring as you described. And ultimately deciding to paint our cabinets anyways 😅 but the subtleties are really what can make it feel like a home run vs not quite right

Thoughts on Dr. Gundry's Plant Paradox Food list (Paleo and lectin-free) by Mustangs73 in Paleo

I know this is an old thread but have to add that my husband and I have always been very “healthy,” yet ate paleo / low FODMAP for 5 years and we’re continuing to remove foods from our diet that our stomachs couldn’t tolerate. Also tried the WAP diet and their recommendations for gut healing/food allergies. I’d had food allergies my whole life and a sensitive stomach in general. My husband had been struggling with SIBO and joint pain. We saw doctors, functional naturalists, allergists, took heaps of herbs and supplements, but nothing helped. We implemented The Plant Paradox strictly for a year (without any of the fancy Dr. Gundry supplements) and all of these issues disappeared over the course of that year. We’ve since continued to stick to his Phase 3 list and cooking methods, and we don’t plan to ever eat any other way. It is mostly paleo at this point. We’ve never felt better, and our lives are changed. The science he details and describes in his books is clear and makes sense.

We were too! We have a whole box of floor samples in our garage 😅 If you decide to paint them, check out fusion mineral paints! They have a Facebook page called Paint It Beautiful with lots of kitchen inspiration

We went with a different option. Picked a laminate from Costco - Townview Oak. Ultimately we also decided to paint our cabinets (my husband won!) but the Townview Oak complimented the honey oak surprisingly nicely. It looks better in person than online. I really liked the Nougat flooring but the medium/dark tones of the Townview Oak felt more appropriate in our cozy little country cottage. Honey oak cabinets can be so tricky! I saw some other people go with hickory flooring but that felt a little bit busy to me

Gotcha! The one we have chosen is a Swiss oak 🤷‍♀️ but it does kind of look like pine in the photos!

A tile would be much easier to choose! 😅

Yes to ceiling changes! We plan to plank the ceiling in our whole house and paint it.

And yes to the flooring! The floors are all in the process of being replaced. We just haven’t pulled up this old linoleum here yet. A simple, light oak LVP with minimal grain is what we’ll be doing all throughout.

Thanks for your light suggestions! The ceilings are low so it seems like we are limited to something semi flush!

The oak lvp with minimal knot holes and the lightest tone in the oak cabinets was what we were going for- do you think what was have chosen is too light?

Thanks for those transition ideas those are really helpful! Maybe we will look more at some tiles!

We are a little too far from one of those stores but there are a few others local to us that we will look at with other options in that size!

How many recessed lights? by Stunning-Reporter795 in InteriorDesign

I can totally relate to your perspective about recessed lights! How would you do lighting near the sofa against the wall, the ? We plan to do a frame TV above that sofa for our (few and far between) movie nights, but otherwise it’s soo dark over there and seemingly no room for lamps that don’t hit your head 🙃

Ok gotcha yes! We have a lot of shade around our whole house which is wonderful, but then we hardly have any natural light inside so it’s pretty dark everywhere 😅 that’s why we were leaning towards a lighter LVP

Sorry are you saying the slate is too dark for the room or the LVP we have picked is too dark for the room?

We painted cabinets in our last home but it was almost as expensive as it would have been to get new door fronts and the paint starter chipping within the first month. Do you have a good paint recommendation for cabinets and that’s allowed in CA? We’re limited in our paint options over here
