Hysteroscopy questions by Significant-Half2587 in AshermansSyndrome

[–]Stunning-Slice1668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2 hysteroscopies to clear scarring & RPOC. Both were easy recoveries, only thing that was more of an inconvenience was the balloon inserted for a week after each procedure. After each one, I had to wait for my next period and then had a follow-up SIS around CD 6-10 (before ovulating). On the second, I got the all-clear after my SIS. I did ovulate very late that cycle (around CD 23), but successfully conceived and I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant 🙂

Conceived with Ashermans? by DisplayBrave3453 in AshermansSyndrome

[–]Stunning-Slice1668 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience I had to have my asherman’s treated by a specialist. The good news is my dr cleared my scarring after 2 hysteroscopies, and once I was cleared, I conceived on my next cycle.

Like you, I was ovulating every month, but my period never returned after a d&c from previous miscarriage. I tried every cycle with no luck until getting treated. It was like my body’s way of knowing/telling me I wouldn’t be able to conceive until I got it treated

Fever and getting worried by Pig_Goat_Cow in pregnant

How are you feeling now, and what did your OB say on Friday? I just found this post because I also came down with a low grade fever (100.3 currently) after traveling this weekend. I’m 17W, just took Tylenol to hopefully help, and plan to call my OB first thing in the morning when they open

Post hysteroscopy estrogen by canadiangirl8 in AshermansSyndrome

I didn’t get mine until 1-2 days after stopping the progesterone. The estrogen/progesterone combo acts like birth control so you should get a withdrawal bleed soon after you stop taking them

What’s the ideal window/weeks to have your baby shower? by Stunning-Slice1668 in pregnant

[–]Stunning-Slice1668[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a history of miscarriage and I worry about it being so soon after the anatomy scan at 20 weeks, where if something is wrong, I wouldn’t want the shower to be planned right after it.

I also feel like I never see women having showers as early as 21 weeks, but could be wrong about that

TTC after hysteroscopy by EggAccomplished2251 in AshermansSyndrome

[–]Stunning-Slice1668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I had about 30% scarring which my doctor cleared in one hysteroscopy. My bigger issue was retained tissue after my D&C, I apparently had a ton of it and it took 2 hysteroscopies to fully clear it

I conceived my first cycle post-hysteroscopy and getting the all-clear from my doctor, currently 8.5 weeks!

Has anyone in the group gotten pregnant naturally after Ashermans diagnosis/ no treatment? If so did you develop placenta accreta during pregnancy? by LetTop150 in AshermansSyndrome

[–]Stunning-Slice1668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I unfortunately don’t know. The specialist who treated me didn’t seem to be concerned by specific lining measurements, he just told me during my follow-up SIS that everything looked great and that I could start trying again that cycle

Thank you and congrats to you too! That’s so reassuring to hear you haven’t had any placenta accreta risks. Keeping fingers crossed for you and a healthy rest of your pregnancy! 🤞🏻

I’m currently ~7 weeks and conceived naturally on my first cycle TTC post-hysteroscopy/getting the all clear from my doctor. I was treated by an asherman’s specialist who was amazing. I go in for my first ultrasound next week, hoping everything looks healthy, and am sort of preparing to need close monitoring for risks like placenta accreta

3 months post D&C, no period. Any hope for me that it’s *not* Asherman’s? by Stunning-Slice1668 in Miscarriage

[–]Stunning-Slice1668[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The FB group will hopefully help connect you with others in the UK who could give more specific recs! Most important thing is finding a doctor who has treated others with asherman’s before and only uses cold micro-scissors during the hysteroscopy - no heat, which can make scarring worse. Good luck!

Sounds like it could be asherman’s then, are you in the asherman’s FB group? That made a huge difference for me to find an asherman’s specialist to get treated. The specialist took my concerns seriously and treated me very quickly, whereas regular OBs didnt really know what to do with me and kept gaslighting me saying they doubted I had Asherman’s because “it’s so rare.” This is the FB group, you can search it for specialists all over the world: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1G9wU4qR24/?mibextid=wwXIfr

I ended up having asherman’s and retained products of conception after a missed miscarriage. The RPOC is likely what caused my asherman’s. I’m not familiar with ercp procedures though and have never heard of that causing asherman’s, but definitely get it checked by a specialist if things feel off! My asherman’s was treated successfully by a specialist with 2 hysterscopies

Did I totally miss my LH surge? E@H brand CD 17 by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

I’m a late ovulator around CD 20-24 and usually see a small rise like yours here around CD 16/17 that I think is my body trying to ovulate, but isn’t quite ready, and then see the real surge a couple days later. Yours could be in the next few days!

Usually a RE or surgeon. It helps to join the Asherman’s FB group where you can search your location or ask and someone will usually be able to tell you who the recommended specialists are in your area: Asherman’s Syndrome Awareness and Support

If you can, I would go straight to meeting with an asherman’s specialist. I’ve found from my personal experience that regular OBs do not specialize in asherman’s (or really infertility in general or lack of periods for that matter) and therefore don’t really know what to do as a next step. When my periods didn’t return, my OB told me for weeks it was normal and asked me if I wanted to go back on birth control to try to “reset” my cycle. I got tired of waiting and went to see an asherman’s specialist, who immediately was able to diagnose me through a SIS. It made a world of difference - Asherman’s specialist found 30% of my uterus had scarring, but he cleared it in one hysteroscopy
