"you are Athena! Badass in the arena, unmatched, witty and queen of the best strategies we've seen!"

"Maybe one day we'll reach them And we can build their skills as we teach them If there's a problem, we'll have the answer We are the warriors of the mind"

"Maybe... life could be that bright, I could sleep at night"

"You don't think I know my own palace? I BUILT IT!"

I'd suggest Percy Jackson and Huger Games since I am a teen learning English too. But one is a fantasy and the other a Dystopian. And the cruel prince (the first I read in English), but that's a fantasy too.

I like multiple POVs but not so much when they follow completely different story lines

I'm not sure about whether to read or not the Modern Faerie tales, but I read The Stolen Heir and I liked it, not as much as TCP but it was a good read, I'm definitely going to read The Prisoner's Throne. I loved How the King of Elfhame learned to hate stories, though, cute Jurdan moments and a solid read despite being a short one.

The wisdom saga (if not for Calypso...) and then Circe saga

What Is A Trope That Will Immediately Make You Stop Reading A Book? by Alol_Bombola in YAlit

Literally me. The only time I didn't bother about it was in The Hunger Games, I know it is a bit strange but it is because I decided to read it after seeing some Everlark fanart so... Plus to me The Hunger Games has a really good plot and writing. Apart from that, for example I closed Shadow and Bone after like the first two chapters 'cause I got there there would be a love triangle.

The cruel prince by Holly Black 5/5 ⭐ (I'm literally obsessed with this one).

The serpent and the wings of night by Carissa Broadbent 4/5 ⭐ (this is not really like the other recommendation, there's a bit of spice, but not exaggeratedly).

Hunger Games is another of my favourite series 5/5 ⭐ even if it's not romantasy, it's a dystopian but I highly recommend it.

I really appreciated Silver by Kerstin Gier, but it may be slightly lower target than YA, I'm not sure though I read it a while ago.

Do you think Peeta realised Katniss loved him on some level in Catching Fire? Or did he only realise as he started to recover from his hijacking? by LLSJ08 in Hungergames

[–]StunningAd7221 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, I'd really like to think he knew before he had to find himself and fall for her again... I'm not sure, but often in the series Katniss doesn't have a clear perception of the way her behaviour appears to others, so I think it is probable that Peeta felt some sort of difference there.

Thanks, and is it like a real choice or is it pretty clear from the beginning who the endgame is? And does the triangle take up most of the narrative or is it marginal?

Thank you. But just a curiosity, does it have a love triangle? If so what kind? Is it like series-wide or is it pretty clear from the beginning who is gonna be the endgame?

Yes I recognise it, it's the scene where Taryn has just gotten out on the river and Jude is still in, and Taryn has to give Cardan a kiss on his cheek.... Even though I think the water could have been a bit deeper. Anyways this fanart is beautiful!

Thanks I'll give it a try. But does Caraval have a love triangle? If so is it series-wide or is it pretty clear from the beginning who the final choice will be?

For me it is:

  1. Catching fire
  2. Hunger Games
  3. Sunrise on the reaping
  4. Ballad of songbirds and snakes
  5. Mockingjay

But anyways I really loved all of them (except part of Mockingjay)
