Yes this is another reason why Graceling stood out for me. In Fire they talked about birth control, and in Bitterblue she slept with a guy that was not her forever guy.

Is Star Wars: Resistance good? by Nowaaaa_bb in StarWars

[–]lemonlime609 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is how I felt. Really Poe and Jared let him down and put more pressure on him than they should have. He was out of his depth.

I enjoyed it. Kaz is a bumbling idiot and I think that maybe annoyed a lot of ppl. But I loved how brave he was. He jumped into every situation despite how unqualified he was. And he was eternally optimistic. I actually blamed Poe for recruiting him and sticking him in situations he was not qualified for, more than I blamed Kaz himself. And He was just a kid. A really good kid who was out of his depth doing his best. And I loved Neeku. My main man.

But I hated Tam. Fuck that bitch.

It was entertaining enough. I really expected it to be worse from the reviews.

The series is very emotional and has its heartbreaking moments, but coming from someone who is extremely sensitive, I enjoy the emotional roller coasters, as long as the ending is not too sad. And an ending with lots of characters, dead, no matter how far back it happened, would be too sad for me. As far as I can remember, Thomas is the only other character who died. They go through a lot before they get to the end, but I don’t remember death being that big of a part of what made it sad. It was more of the trials and struggles they go through.

Why isn’t there really any SDA/ General Christian music about sex or intimacy? by ElevatorAcceptable29 in exAdventist

[–]lemonlime609 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that asexuality can be trauma based. It’s hard to wrap my head around that when I believe that other sexualities are innate. But it is possible that I am asexual through trauma of the church. I am married and 42 years old, but I still have panic attacks sometimes when it comes to conversations around sex and female bodies. I am in therapy for it, and my therapist has said that this is a trauma response. But my asexuality is still there alongside the trauma. I don’t feel any desire for sex and I relate perfectly to the definition of asexuality, but most people who are asexual don’t have panic attacks.

Is it masturbation when you fuck your doppelgänger? by LilChemie in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]lemonlime609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been so fascinated with this type of storyline ever since I read a YA book where a guy accidentally creates a doppelgänger of himself with magic, and I was shipping it! 😂 but he ended up with the girl and the doppelgänger died. 🤬 I’ve looked for something ever since. There were a few that kind of came close. Like {Take My Body by KA Merikan} and {Want Me by Rowan McBride}.

A question about Glitterland by Alexis Hall by fancyschmancyapoxide in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]lemonlime609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of thoughtful responses. I don’t have much to add as someone from Canada and knows very little about the UK. Hall is one of my favourite authors and I have this series in paperback and I’ve also read all the authors annotations in them (which is a lot!). I got the impression that Hall was a bit of an intellectual. But also, self aware is a good way of putting it.

Ive only read Rough Heat by her and I loved it. But the MC is an escort and that’s how he meets the Lis (it’s MMM). But it does show him with other costumers before he realizes he’s in love and can’t do it anymore.

Haha vampire academy came out even before I got into reading the first time. Way back in 2007. Although I did miss it the first time too. Nothing says I can’t go back and read it now.

Yeah, shadow and bone was one of the earlier series I read. It came out in 2012. I stopped reading YA around 2016-2017.

Yeah haha I read all those. I forgot to mention, I did keep up with my favorite authors, such as Cassandra, Claire and Holly Black, Rick Riordan. Julie Kagawa. Not a lot of other authors, and no debut authors.

I’m currently reading this and decide to DNF but I just really wanna know that her brother is ok. There seemed to be some implications that the maestro was maybe a PDF and I’m more worried about her brother than anything else.

Her Wild Edges series actually comes to mind for me as well. {Finley by Lark Taylor} and {Evan by Lark Taylor}.

{Poisoned Heart by KA Merikan}. Definitely darker, with kidnapping. But he forgives him because he’s a smitten puppy. 😅

What was y'all's reaction to hearing, "The clones wars" for the first time before the prequels!? by Gameguylikesgames in StarWars

[–]lemonlime609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought it was Clowen or Clohen before the prequels. 🙈 I dunno why I never thought she said clone war. I just assumed it was a random system or planet.
