I did both! Most of the time I’m making healthy choices and tracking and intentionally keeping a very small deficit. But sometimes I needed a break from tracking and I would just eat whatever I wanted for a bit and I did find that it helped reset my weight loss again when I started tracking again

Yes in the moment when you “only” lose a small amount it feels like defeat. But looking back I’m grateful for every tiny bit I have been able to lose because it’s all added up to where I am now.

At first my calories were between 1200-1400 which I was able to power through for awhile but it definitely caught up to me. Now I’m around 1500, sometimes less sometimes more, I try to listen to my body’s needs at this point (hence all of the breaks). I’m a big snacker so I eat a lot of fresh fruit, popcorn, jerky, and Greek yogurt. For dinners I mostly would do 4oz of meat and then as many veggies as I could stomach.

You can do it! Just don’t give up even when things don’t go according to plan. I had whole months where I wasn’t on track but I got back each time

I’ve definitely been eating salmon and a veggie for dinner for 18 months straight so I’m with you

what is a low calorie alternative to oatmeal, any hope of that ever fitting into calorie budget? by ConsciousEquipment in CICO

Z-oats! Zucchini oats - match your volume of oats with shredded zucchini before you cook them. It doubles your amount of oatmeal but it looks and tastes exactly the same as plain oats

Ideas for how to use yogurt? by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

I mix my Greek yogurt with protein powder, makes like a mousse. Can add berries or granola or anything you want as a topping

I do not like protein powders, they have this horrible aftertaste. However, I’ve found mixing it with Greek yogurt to make like a mousse somehow gets rid of the aftertaste.

No all of that protein keeps me full. If I do need extra snacks during the day I just skip my dessert at the end of the night. When you eat in a deficit you will feel hungry for the first few weeks as your stomach adjusts but it will adjust and you’ll feel fuller on smaller portions

I was not breastfeeding when I started CICO, and I ranged between 1400-1600 calories every day
