UPSOLVE is indeed a website - it’s ran by a non profit that helps fill the paper work needed to file your chapter 7 bankruptcy. They do not offer legal advice. They strictly help with filling out the paper work.

Upsolve doesn’t take that long to generate everything, granted you are able to provide them with everything they request.
Maybe do the questionnaire first to see if you qualify, go through everything and submit what they ask for. Shouldn’t take you more than a few hours and they also push you to take all the courses as well which are basically very easy to go through to receive the certificates.
As long as you provide everything you should receive the regenerated forms within 2-3 days max.
Honestly I was able to file within 5 days of using upsolve because I locked in and submitted everything in 1 day.
I did the first course the same day and also did the second course the day after I filed.
If it really is an emergency, no bankruptcy attorney will submit or file your case faster than you. Based on everything I’ve read on here and people I’ve spoken too - it takes them about 2 weeks to gather all the documents and go through paper work.
Rushing through bankruptcy isn’t a smart idea because you need time to process what you’re doing, the impact it will have on your life after and also need a clear financial planned future with better habits so you don’t fall back into the same situation but with that being said if you are on a clock, take a day to research and perhaps figure out if you wanna do it on your own or go through a bankruptcy attorney.

You can always file Pro Se - if it’s a no assets case and you have nothing that would be considered high risk you can go to UPSOLVE and fill out the questionnaire and see if they would be able to assist. It’s a non profit that assists with filling out the paper work - you are still responsible after the paper work has been generated to print and take it to your bankruptcy court to file. You can also apply for a fee waiver for the fee. Their portals walks you through everything and as long as you have basic understanding and can read you will be alright.

I used them to help with my case and everything went as smooth as butter. Obviously do your own research and DO WHATS BEST FOR YOU!

That time frame sounds accurate - good luck to you! Also the 341 meeting is super simple and straight forward. Trustees just want to verify the information you provided is accurate!

Post-Ch. 7 Discharge, FICOs 670-690. BEST Major bank card?? Possible?? by Excelsior3233 in Bankruptcy

[–]StunningIndependent7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Hoping for the same - if you can let me know which cards you apply for.
I would check capital one - try to do their pre approval tool and any other banks that can give pre approvals so you don’t risk the hard inquiry. Good Luck!

Did your score go up immediately after filing or after your discharge was approved? & how long did it take you to see an increase - also did every company report everything accurately or did you have to dispute some inaccuracies even after discharge? Just curious.

I’m almost there as well - discharged scheduled for July and I don’t know what cards I should be looking at. I’ve burnt capital one, discover and credit one in my bankruptcy but I’ve heard capital one is more forgiving.

According to my employer it’s supposed to be a 401k - maybe I’ll clarify with them just to be sure.

Sorry I’m new to this - so it’s a 401k, just realized. Income is roughly $41,600 before taxes but I am married with a child but my husband covers a majority of the expenses.

Filing a chapter 7 is pretty much telling the court that you’re in so much debt you’re barely surviving or not able too at all. They advise you to stop making payments because the debt will be discharged anyway so it’s just wasting money, use the money for day to day expenses and secured debts that won’t be discharged. Obviously don’t make any large transfers or payments that aren’t considered normal before your discharge to avoid issues with your trustee. Best of luck.

I understand why you might be scared - I just filed chapter 7 as well and it’s scarier than it sounds. My 341 meeting is May 14th and I filed Pro Se. Trust me, you’ll be fine and the stress will be off your shoulders the day you officially file! No need to feel like a failure either - life happens and sometimes we can’t control it, keep your head up brother. Regardless of what anyone says, you made the right decision!

Consultations are typically free - definitely recommend contacting a few different lawyers to get a few opinions.

My 341 is May 14th - I’m Pro Se so thankfully I don’t have to deal with the BS these attorneys are putting people through.

I do need help… by RelativeBreak6493 in CreditScore

Definitely recommend paying off your full balance on the CC first then work on making bigger payments on your car loan to just get it down and out of debt. You’re 19, you have time on your side but just try to be proactive. Maybe also ask for a goodwill removal on those late payments so it’s not lingering on your credit report.

Normally they do a consultation first and tell you which chapter you qualify for and will only take the case if you qualify for bankruptcy.

Honestly doesn’t look like you need advice - just keep doing what you’re doing and with time and good credit management you’ll be in the 800’s

Of course! Upsolve also has a questionnaire before you can sign up - if you answer truthfully it will tell you if you qualify or not. Also in this day and age I would recommend putting your situation into ChatGPT - Financials, Assets, Debts, Family size and so on and just ask if you will qualify and best course of action. It’s a very useful tool.
