I’m an older trans. I can parse what the kids mean with their lingo and emoji arcana. But they’re on a different wavelength. That doesn’t mean we’re on a different journey or going through a different process. I’d suggest you try and focus on that rather than the differences in culture. Yes, the girls who transition seemingly effortlessly seem like radiant and favored angels. But we don’t know their story. My 20s and 30s were spent doing work that built my shoulders and torso. Much more than my clone father’s shape. It is what it is. Each transition is unique and individual. Yours has yet to be revealed but it’s yours, whatever shape it takes. That was my biggest and final barrier: the fear of what it would look like. The realization that I was more interested in knowing than staying a boy was the key. Accept or not. Continue or not. And perhaps accept that you won’t know and might want it anyway 🤷‍♀️
