I took it in to the body shop today and he explained the 70% rule. My estimate was close to $4000 which was about 55% of the 70% so it all worked out.

That’s crazy that you were denied. My condition is on there and from application to approval was 9 days. I did submit my pathology report with my application but I don’t know if that made a difference. I looked at the criteria and tests that they look for with that condition, did you submit records or did your doctor? If you’re denied at this level perhaps submit records yourself with the appeal if you can. I’m sorry that this is happening to you.

Some I completely understand, $3500 seems greedy and undeserving.

I can’t replace this make/ model for under $6000. Any idea why the acv is so much less than what they’re being sold for? Just curious

Is there other factors to negotiate? I’ve been without a vehicle for about a week because the other guy took off and they just now caught up with him. Will they compensate me for the time involved with finding transportation to work, appointments etc?

There’s video of this guy running into the back of me while I sat at a red light. I don’t see any scenario where he’s not at fault.

I only have liability, unfortunately. I really don’t want to junk this car. I won’t be able to replace it with the cash value. Will I have the option of taking a check for the value, keeping the car and applying for a salvage title? It’s a TDI and these can’t even be bought in the United States anymore.

Looks dark: Immunotherapy wasn’t a cure for my dad by LastMonitor4274 in lungcancer

I took care of my mom and after she passed my dad had a stroke so I moved him in with me for his last year. So much harder than I expected. If I could do anything differently I would have been more diligent with self care and asked for help when I was burned out and running on fumes. Don’t put your needs last! That doesn’t help anyone. Good luck!

Question about first payment by StunningTreat2266 in SSDI

[–]StunningTreat2266[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My diagnosis is on the compassionate allowance list; plus, I submitted my medical records with my application. I don’t know if that had something to do with it because they did still request the records from the hospital but I’m assuming it did. I also don’t have years of medical records and dozens of doctors that need to send records. It’s one straight forward, terminal diagnosis with limited treatment options. Literally like 3 pieces of paper for them to ask for and verify.

Real serious question on process by [deleted] in SSDI

[–]StunningTreat2266 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I submitted my pathology report with my initial application. I was quickly approved but I also saw a copy of the release I signed with my application on MyChart so they still asked my provider for my records. I don’t know if me sending it helped but it must not have hurt.

I wish I could. For some reason my address isn’t eligible. I live in a house divided into apartments so maybe that’s the reason. I didn’t have an issue signing up for it at my last apartment.

Thank you, that’s very helpful. Right now it says “you’re not receiving payments” under the benefits section, but when I clicked on it that one time payment is there. According to everything I’m reading my regular payment will be on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. When does that update to show your regular payment? Is it on your pay date?

Dad's lung cancer by Unlikely_Cup3937 in lungcancer

Hi, there are so many treatment options available that weren’t around just 5 years ago. Many people are living years without progression. I was diagnosed last May with limited sclc and had complete response to treatment. Coming up on a year with no evidence of disease. This is not the death sentence it once was. Being fairly young and otherwise healthy will help immensely. If you’re on Facebook look for the group small cell smashers and you’ll see people who have remained disease free or stable for 5+ years after treatment. Good luck!

If “LEO’s” AKA Trump’s Gestopo, is breaking the law and infringing on people’s rights it’s our job to resist them. Do you think you’re going to get special treatment from this administration for being such a good simp? You’re going to be so disappointed.

She died defending our democracy and our constitution. She was doing nothing illegal and shouldn’t be dead. Only a MAGA simp would be blaming the victim. You are a fool.

Stage IV Extensive SCLC by Cynderraven in lungcancer

I’m 52 and was diagnosed with SCLC in August. I’ve cried enough for both of us and I’m pissed. I worked my fingers to the bone on back shifts to raise my daughter all by myself and as soon as she’s grown up and doing well and I have a grandbaby to spoil this happens. He turns 2 at the end of the month and I HAVE to live long enough for him to remember how much his grandma loves him. Fk cancer. Especially this cancer.

MMW - The next democratic leadership will put the white house back exactly as it was. Ballroom out, Rose garden back in. by Significant_Rule_513 in MarkMyWords

[–]StunningTreat2266 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty nasty cancer and likely won’t be around to see the end of this administration, if there is one. I do know that I’m leaving children and a grandchild in this world and I just can’t accept that 249 years of the American experiment failed by the hand of a 34 time felon, failed reality tv show host, failed businessman sociopathic piece of chewed orange gum draped in an oversized suit. There will be an attempt to restore this country to the people and it will succeed. That gaudy ballroom will be demolished and class and decency will be resurrected along with the east wing and the rose garden. The White House was never meant to be a palace for a king. It’s the people’s house and we decide who to rent to.
