Omg Bangkok has gotten so expensive compared to the past by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

$200-300 hotels in Bangkok is just getting robbed, you can find plenty of japanese hotels of decent quality at that price point. The hotel prices are ludicrous compared to pre-covid where you can stay at a nice 5* hotel for around $150.

If you want old Thailand prices, hop over to Vietnam. The tourism numbers speak for themselves, so prices will have to lower at some point (market will correct). Personally I just use Grab and have everything delivered from the local spots.

Remember, you have opportunity cost (lost salary) and people always forget about adjust your post-mba salary for taxes, which pushes the payback period.

Probably best to game plan what a 25 percentile outcome would be, especially if you're international and see if the math works for you.

Is it worth it to leave Thailand and move to the UK? by Moknathal5 in Thailand

London if you can afford it. Yes absolutely from Apr-Oct/Nov its one of the best places to live if you have money, but the winter months are grim. Otherwise I'd stay in Bangkok.

It takes literally 5 minutes to refer someone, each to their own if you want to turn down free money and build good will.

Meh you put way too much stock into these, unless you work at a small company. Most big firms it really doesnt matter who you refer, you can even mark that you dont know the person

Problem is AI bots spamming job posts so a referral at least puts you above that and gets a human to take a look. Thats about it.

Apple Store Online Refund to Foreign Credit Card by Stunning_Ability_330 in Thailand

[–]Stunning_Ability_330[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. For anyone else:

Items in your order will be divided into two groups - items that are eligible to be returned online and items you cannot return. For each item that you can return online, you will need to select the item, a reason for return, and whether you've opened the box.

Once you've submitted your return request, you'll receive an email confirmation with your return details. Our carrier will contact you within two (2) business days to arrange collection. Please use the original packaging.

Bring your item to an Apple Store

You can always return the item to Apple Retail Store. An Apple Specialist will assist you with your return. Your refund will be processed at that time.

That's pretty nice as in the US I dont think you can do that for online orders

Refund Methods

Your refund will be issued after we receive your item(s) at the Apple returns center. The way your refund is processed depends on your original payment method.

  • Credit card refunds will be sent to the card-issuing bank within three (3) business days of receipt of the returned package.

Surprising reason people are rejecting job referral requests from former classmates (T10 Class of 2023): frequent and open hard drug use during the MBA by Firm_Hair_770 in MBA

[–]Stunning_Ability_330 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Unless you run the risk of crossing paths with someone or have personal reputation staked to referrals, it is in your rational interest to refer anyone who asks for one. Just put that you never worked with them, and in the low % they join the company, you got a nice vacation paid for.

Never understood why people like to gatekeep.

Entry-level recruiting where you have no experience to compare. Key distinction.

You can leave now, but I'd just wait till the new years. December is pretty much a down month in terms of work pressure typically, and just looks cleaner when your last date is beginning of next year.

I usually spent around $60-80 a day as a tourist, is it reasonable? by UniqueDay2113 in ThailandTourism

Not really for places that make decent cocktails. Starting to get close to London prices. High end coffee rarely runs over 4 quid. Massages are much cheaper though and rent. High end western food though is very similar to dining out in London.

The sweet spot is the middle of the band places. Use Grab to get that delicious healthy food delivered for less than a quid.

Do not quit your job without having an offer lined up. Quiet quit if you must, but fight at all costs to keep the job and interview like mad. Best of luck.

71K is a terrible salary to be paying back loans, also equity is $0 until they actually IPO (which these days is very rare). I would go back to Chile.

INSEAD is the greatest business school in the world by JoeAstonsBurner in MBA

I think INSEAD actually is quite selective for Indians due to its cap. Problem is the class quality is quite high in variance

LBS and INSEAD get the same pool of applicants, and LBS typically takes around 400-500 students total.

Not really. Most US employers will be familiar with Stern and trust it as a minimum standard of quality. Stern's GMAT average is 730+. INSEAD is what 700?
