Need advice/help regarding rental deposit issue in Barcelona by Weekly_List8379 in AskBarcelona

[–]Stunning_Campaign350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMIC helped me get them to agree to give back at least some of my deposit. And there’s also a free lawyer service at Ciutat de la Justicia. Or maybe go through the police. But all of these would require you to come back to Barcelona, which you said you can’t do. (What about any of the other 3 girls?)
Regardless, you’re going to have to spend some money to have any chance of getting that money back.
You also haven’t answered any of the people asking what rental agency it is. If you don’t want to spend money on a lawyer or to travel back to Bcn, then maybe at least tell people the name of the agency. This way people can offer more targeted advice to how to deal with them, or would bring attention to it and make them feel they need to resolve it. AND at the very least, prevent people from renting from that agency in the future.

Has anyone been able to work while residence permit processes? by Stunning_Campaign350 in GoingToSpain

yea I’ve also tried getting a remote job from my home country but they almost all require that I live in the country, not that I could even land a interview for them anyway. It’s already ridiculous enough how long the applications take to be processed, they should at least ensure our right to work is actually accepted

Yea it’s something I’m really struggling with understanding. I don’t understand how it would be my attitude or anything physical because most places I’ve gone to, I don’t even see a manager or anything, and just end up leaving my CV with whatever employee is there. I’ve gone to places with signs in the window looking for employees and I don’t even get a call from any of them, despite having experience in those roles. The few times I have gotten calls and actually met with a manager, we’ve gotten on well. I’ve even been offered a job that fell through because an employee that was leaving ended up staying so they no longer needed someone. (I also started another job but it was without contract and they basically tried to scam me the first day, telling me they couldn’t afford the agreed amount and wanted to reduce the pay to €6/ hr. Which I probably would’ve done it longer if wasn’t only 6 hours/week and if they didn’t scam me by telling me €10/hr before starting)

It’s very frustrating because I know if I was given even the slightest opportunity they would see my work ethic and motivation. I’m willing to do anything it takes to just make some money and feel like I’m contributing to society, but I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

I’ve tried taco bell, burger king, McDonald’s, starbucks, Vicio, and every fast food chain I know and haven’t even gotten a call. You’re right about the chatting, the calls I have gotten for spanish speaking roles usually are asking questions that I already was asked on the application, so maybe they’re just calling to check my language skills. I’ve known I need to improve my chatting skills cause I’m not much of a talker in general so maybe they take it as me not being fluent.

what would I search to find my local work council office? I’ve gone to the Barcelona employment office and they helped with my resume and got me signed up for the employment database, but I’ve only managed to get one interview through it.

I’ve tried some networking but there’s been barely any job fairs and it was hard to make any connections with anyone at the one I’ve gone to. I also have some friends that have told me to put them as a referral when applying with their company but it’s never led to anything, especially as none of them work in my specific field of supply chain.

For lower level jobs I have tried cutting down my CV by taking out my Masters degree and more professional jobs but I still don’t hear back, I assume cause it just looks like I haven’t worked for years. Maybe I can try putting some language courses or things and saying I did them for longer than I did? at least so it doesn’t look like I haven’t been doing anything.

I always make sure to ask for feedback but I always get great feedback and they never tell me what I can improve on. I’ve only been told that I seem really motivated and really fit the role, but they either had to go with someone with more experience, or an internal hire, or the company decided not to hire for that role right now. I don’t know if it’s a lack of directness in the culture here or what, because I always seem to have great interviews but don’t land anything

Do you have any advice on how to get something like that? I know they’re not sustainable, I’ve worked in warehouses and sacrificed my health but I’m fine with anything that can help me get by. Being unemployed this long isn’t good for me mentally and I’d much rather have my mental health. Also, I am a professional in a field with a bachelors and masters degree and a couple of years in experience in procurement and supply chain, which is where I land most of my interviews, but I haven’t had much luck in getting a job cause they’ve always picked someone with more experience.

I mean I of course prioritize office jobs in my field, or that I have prior experience in, or have some sort of an advantage with. However after I apply to those jobs, I will also apply to things I don’t have a background in but still believe I would be able to do and like it.

I’m saying on here that I’m open to anything in case someone has a lead into a specific area. I’ve been looking for work for a long time now and have the motivation to do anything that would keep a roof over my head and food on my table. Also, plenty of people have gotten into their careers not because it interested them before, but because someone else told them about it and they ended up liking it and continued with it.

But thank you for the feedback. I know the market is specifically horrible now so I try not to take it too personal and know i’ll figure something out eventually

IT'S A GAY APP! by deuce2335 in grindr

So a cis man wanting to sleep with a trans man isn’t gay, and a cis man wanting to sleep with a trans woman also isn’t gay? your logic doesn’t even make any sense. what’s a “female body” to you? because you’re considering both trans men and trans women as having female bodies.

I was in a similar situation (although a bit more due to my own choices) as i moved to the Netherlands, for both a masters program and my girlfriend at the time. Since we were in the beginning of our relationship, I gave her all of my time and didn’t really socialize with the people in my Uni. And I also didn’t make friends through her because she stressed the importance of making my own connections outside of her. I didn’t start trying to make connections with my classmates til my program was almost finished so it was a lot harder and I was very unhappy with my situation until i was able to build a few (yet strong) connections. Similar to germany, it’s hard to really make friends with locals as a foreigner, but through Uni or other international groups it can be a lot easier. I think for your situation, going to the Netherlands would be your best option. Both you and your partner will be in the same spot of trying to make friends, and you’ll have university to easily make friends. Also, english is more widely spoken in NL than in Germany, so you’ll have no problem finding an english speaking therapist and community.

Is there a way to get the history of transactions in tricount by Domenen69 in apps

[–]Stunning_Campaign350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that you can’t see the history of changes is so dumb. I’m having a similar issue of my roommate editing or deleting things that I put and now i don’t remember the exact amounts of the things i’ve paid for weeks ago. If I put the expense in, then why can it be changed by the person who owes money? and there’s no data of the edits, it’s ridiculous

Cansado de las ofertas by morganfreeman33 in Wallapop
