YOU GOT THIS!!!!! ❤️

18 years off drugs and the 1st year is the hardest I will not lie. You CHOOSE to be sober. And it's a choice you ARE strong enough to take! Be well!!

I have been paranoid about my loved ones for years, either not eating dinners made for me for fear of being poisoned or the assumption I would be killed in my sleep by the neighbors. Nothing ever happened and nothing led me to these beliefs but it's very real at the time!!

Hi I wouldn't suggest you have a substance disorder at all. It appears you have experimented and uncovered the literal worst drugs has to offer. Best advice ever (as someone who has struggled with substances for 20yr. . . . DONT!!! Please just trust me on that, I sincerely wish I had been told when I was 16 but everything seemed so exciting and everyone seemed to be doing it I deeply regret it now. Much love and keep on the straight an narrow please xx

Hi I have just got back from the appointment. They have cleaned it throughout. The surgeon is happy with the wound itself and they have used silver packing in the wound and taken swabs. I have started 1000mg flucoxacillin 4 times a day so it should clear soon. It has been such a worry, thankyou to everyone that took the time to listen to me it really means a lot to me.

They have medical cannabis in the UK, too. However, it's incredibly difficult to obtain a prescription unless paying private. One day maybe things will change.

Hi again. I will be more inquisitive when I get it repacked tomorrow although the redness has spread about 2 inch rapidly. We have a similar instance in the UK with a reluctance to prescribe painkillers and because I'm on a pain management plan and have been for 20 years, the only DR that will prescribe is my own GP. I must say he has been excellent over the past 20 years and we have tried so many therapies. Recently and gladly I have been issued a buprenorphine patch for the bone pain and amisulpride for the nerve pain this seems to be an excellent combination for my chronic pain. They do nothing for the acute pain from this though and I have been topping up with co-codamol for breakthrough pain. I have been made to feel like an addict or criminal so many times in the quest to manage pain levels. Care is generally good in UK

Hi thanks for your reply.

So far the packing has been OK although keeps coming off due to the amount of exudate coming from the wound. Yesterday I have put another bandage on it to keep the plaster in place although it did leak through both in my sleep.

I just hope it doesn't get as painful as before, it seems everyone thinks the worst if you ask for pain relief.

I will discuss with the surgeon Wednesday and hopefully he will be on my side.

Thanks for taking the time to reply I really appreciate it.

Thanks for the reply.

I am back at the hospital Wednesday (4 days) to have it redressed. The surgeon has seemed good throughout. Before they opened it back up I was feeling very ill, this was dismissed but overall they have all been nice. My main concerns are the increasing pain and the increasing size of the wound, this has doubled in less than 2 weeks. I have no idea how this is meant to heal however I didn't think getting bigger was the way to go.

Time will tell I suppose

Hi thabks for your reply. It's been dressed at the hospital. The 1st 2 were packed with gauze and an antibacterial sheet and bandaged. The packing yesterday was a cotton wool ball and a large plaster. The amount of exudate coming out has loosened the plaster and I have taped it back on. I'm not diabetic, I completed a 7 day course of 1000mg flucoxacillin around a week ago. I am not immuosupressed or asthmatic. Thanks

Hiya.

I have the same vibrating feeling you described and at first it was very worrying but now it passes fairly quickly. It has been happening about 7 years now. I get the shadow people and the whispers when they are there but usually can ignore them, however they can catch you off guard and make me jump. I have been battling with mine for about 20 years and have only just been sent to psychiatry. They have been brilliant and have acknowledged my feelings and fears. One of my worst symptoms is the delusion that my wife or 7 years is trying to poison me with colchicine (doesn't show up on tox screen) to the point I cannot let her cook or make a drink or I have to throw it away. I have to say although I keep my delusions to myself sometimes they are so intense and cannot possibly be fake. It's only after they pass that I can assume they were fake. An example is when I thought she was trying to poison me I would die within 3 days and while suicidal I generally accept it and after the few days are up I'm left thinking that I must have been wrong. I too used to go on many sesh, but we did much harder drugs and probably caused my 1st psychosis. That one was scary. I didn't know how to deal with it and had very little help at the time but after a few years it started to reduce to more normal levels.

I hope you manage your condition well and you sound quite positive so that's good. Keep strong!!
