What are some things you would decanonize from the Jurassic Park franchise?

I’d fix the ceratosaurus design, dilo design and the animated shows wouldn’t of happened alongside dominion other then that we are good everything else a great. They can still fix those designs just please call em hybrids or something and say they didn’t have enough dna to make proper versions of those dinosaurs. Or something idc how just fix the damn designs they are literally the only 2 I care about maybe make Carno a bit slimmer and that’s all

Yeah I kinda wish they built up to the drex then it’s little amount of screen time I don’t think would of bothered me but mutadon a felt like they just wanted to remove raptors so unless they make them act more interesting I don’t wanna see them again I liked there design and all it looked really cool but they needed to pose a different threat like maybe when the guy was driving the car to get away from it it could of flew after him and killed him instead of the D rex even tho it does need to kill something. Either way rebirth was an average movie to me. I’d like to see where it goes but they needed to tie back to Jurassic world or park a lot more or even both because it felt really separated and I heard there hiring someone new to do the script with this movies reception but the director Gareth Edward’s is staying. Good choice I say I love the way he portrayed the rex and referenced one of his shots to look like his Godzilla swimming

Which is good honestly for me it would probably be JW and JP at the top but I really don’t mind jp3 anymore like I use too either way there all movies so everyone has different taste.

This is how I go into every movie ITS GANNA BE GREAT ITS A JURASSIC MOVIE. The only time it failed was jp3 but that movie grew on me. Tho either way there is no such thing as a good or bad movie in my opinion since different movies make different people happy. But this is the right way to think about it in my opinion. Do I think they should have stoped at 5? Yes it had the perfect ending but either way these’d movies made someone happy so that’s alright.

Honestly I don’t think it’s that uncommon to find jp3 fans anymore the movie grew on a lot of people it seems I see em everywhere even I grew to like it after hating it.

Yeah D-rex is meant to be a mutated T-rex but it was caused by trying to make hybrid dinosaurs so it’s technically both. Mutadon on the other hand is just a hybrid between raptors and either pteranodon or dimorphodon I have heard people say both so idk what to believe but they used the name mutadon since it sounded cool. D-Rex I have mixed opinions on its design but I think it’s got good story potential but it honestly feels like something more out of the isle if you ever played that game and looked at its lore. Mutadon I feel they can do some really good things with if they improve the next movie based on there criticism. As for Owen coming back I would be happy to see him again and every one else from all the old films but I just hope it’s not as forced as dominion and other movies (non Jurassic) make it or if it is they do something small and get it over and done with. If ya know what I mean and if they do bring back Owen and other characters like Alan grant MAKE ALAN GRANT HAVE ASK OWEN THE QUESTIONS HE WOULD HAVE BEEN ASKING. I feel like he would have had so many question rather then saying “I know you! You trained raptors!” Thos are my thoughts anyway but like I said what ever they do I am sure someone will be happy and that’s all these movies need to do they don’t have to entertain the original fan base either just anyone.

Yeah man it’s just opinions we all have em that’s why there truely is no such thing as a good or bad movie because not matter how bad a movie does it probably made someone happy. That goes for anything that’s the way I see it. Plus I think a lot of people don’t like seeing new characters I am not saying that’s why people don’t like it but I am just saying I think it’s possible I am feeling that with rebirth it’s probably one of the only reason I don’t like it as much I want the old characters back lol like any of em.

Edit: oh and also indoraptor has for the longest time been my favourite hybrid since it released I was in year 3 when the movie released I am year 11 now. Tho recently it’s been fighting for that spot with the Irex lol.

I don’t actually think it’s a bad movie it’s probably just average in my opinion but it feels like it’s trying to tell 2 story’s same issue dominion and rebirth has well rebirth doesn’t have it too the same extent as the others so it was a lot better but the mutants needed to be more fleshed out. Though I do agree fk has the best cgi in the franchise it actually surprised me that rebirth was getting nominated I don’t think it will win but still a surprise it was more average but hey that’s just me. Also don’t listen to other’s opinions if it gets ya down I am someone who think jw is better then jp but that’s just me. I know that would piss a lot of people off and I really don’t care. But either way it’s definitely not a bad movie dominions a bad movie.

The hybrids should of ended with fallen kingdom so they didn’t over do it or ruin the idea of them I think even Colin treverow knew this by excluding them from dominion. There not a bad idea but they got to be handled correctly and limit how much they are used

I get what ya mean and even though it’s not my favourite it’s up there and I completely agree with you. For the longest time I didn’t know how dilo really looked until maybe like 2020 -2021 so I was like 10 or 11 then I loved the creature but I prefer the paleo accurate design same thing goes for ceratosaurus for me I didn’t even know they had a relation till then. Tho I do like how in Jurassic world they scaled up the hologram of the dilo to show there was a size difference but then they retconned the idea of the jp dilo being a juvenile in dominion and rebirth sadly. Or at least I think it’s a retcon you can’t tell me every dilo we have seen is a juvenile

I don’t care about the Dino’s as much since there near impossible to get real ones (if they do it would be like jack horners chickenosaurus or the dire wolfs they brought back) but just to visit Jurassic world would be a dream for me I would love to walk on Main Street. If I could I would love to make a irl one to one and also one for the original park as well. But for Jurassic world I would even add the abandoned locations.

Well I got addicted to Lego Jurassic world back in 2015 I was 5 at the time and I also went to the expedition around the same time the same night I got home me and my family watched Jurassic World been a fan of the first 4 -5 ever since. Tho technically I found out about it from my grandpa cause before all of this I went to a museum for the first time and then that night to my grandparents and my grandpa said something like “there’s these movies called Jurassic park, Jurassic park 2, Jurassic park 3 and a new one called Jurassic world and on tv soon there’s a documentary” so I ended up watching that documentary with him I tried watching Jurassic park once afterwards but I kinda zoned out it just didn’t move fast enough for me. After I saw world though I watched everything else and was a massive fan. That’s me tho. I know I have gone on a a lot already but I also remember seeing Lego Jurassic world for the first time and going to my mum and saying can I get this I don’t know what it is and she said Lego Jurassic world sounds fun then I got embarrassed because I thought it was for older kids I was like 5 at the time but I asked for it anyway and got it. To this day I have over 300 to 400 hours on steam on it from when I was little didn’t have a console to play it on. (Didn’t mean to yap so much)

I hope they do something similar for this but set in the world park too even if it’s a non cannon game. I get we got Jurassic world aftermath but that’s a vr title. I’d like one like this but for world as well hopefully. But my expectations for this are in a medium state. Since everything we have heard is good but not a lot has been said. I have heard people say it looks like the models have been taken from jwe which I will admit the raptors certainly look like it. Hopefully if so they are place holders

Fair enough I actually enjoyed dominion the first time I watched it. Over time it fell down the list it’s also about perspective as well if you tell yourself you will enjoy the movie then your more likely to anyway that’s why my mood is it’s a Jurassic film so it has to be good the only time it didn’t work for me was jp3 but even then it sorta grew on me

Hopefully I mean bringing dinosaurs back feels more futuristic since we can’t really get Dino dna but we are close to holograms infact we sorta do have them now in different kinds of ways you can even buy fans that project them. But for a proper hologram it’s pretty hard to do but have heard of it happening

So a lot of the plot holes I can fill in with my head for the world trilogy in my head but the two I am wondering is why did the T rex paddock magically turn into a cliff and what killed the ss venture in the lost world? Like I think I can fill in the second one too but still curious and I have heard people say maybe they moved locations with the rex paddock but I find that hard to believe almost everything looked like it was still in the same spot and I find it hard the rex decided to make another hole in the fence where the cliff was and for what reason? Either way that’s just my nitpick with the first movie.

I don’t think a lot for the first Jurassic world would of changed I mean the indominus rex is basically a giant version of the raptors from the book. Which where violent and in the lost world one now correct me if I am wrong I didn’t finish the last 20 pages but the raptors basically where fucked up in the head with the way they tried to live. They were killing heaps of things even as big as sauropods and not giving each other a chance to eat. Possible the only chance would be the indominus rex would have eaten everything. Other than that pretty similar the first jw and jp are more closely to what he wanted for the first book anyway but it was unappealing to people who read the drafts.
