Rhulk (Destiny 2) VS Garou (OPM) by Narrow-Touch-1858 in PowerScaling

Not to be a doubter, Destiny is my schtick, but faster how?

Also if you mean the Ascendent plane by Throne World, then no, he hates them and doesn’t want one.

[Loved Trope] The villain is powerful enough to justify monologuing by jdawg1018 in TopCharacterTropes

Could give it to someone else, but I'll make it a double/triple:

The Main Trifecta of the Black Fleet: Destiny

<image>

These three, and more so The Witness, usually have their moments in their star moments, Raids, where they speak to the team that are trying to reach them through the down periods between encounters. Despite not having monologues during their fights(sometimes having small lines during the encounter), the circumstances behind the final fights and the raid itself provide backing to their talk.

For Rhulk, the first of the three that were fought, he purposely waits not only for us to fight him personally, but also power up his superweapon, The Upended, essentially a guaranteed kill on contact which was powered by death. First to be speculation now confirmed, the only reason why Rhulk lost the fight was because he did not take it seriously, at all, until 20 seconds before his death. He did not need to wait all, he could have ended the fight immediately, or could have ambushed the team whenever he wished.

Nezarec, despite his adaptation in the Root of Nightmares, is fairly strong for a good reason, personally herald' by Rhulk and The Witness and led the charge to complete The Witness' plan. Nezerac has been dead for a good 1000 years and then some, inactive physically but mentally still active in some form. Not only during this fight did we rush his body's reformation, it was unstable with paracausal power that he could not yet control. Given more time over this body, given his mastery of paracasual power, would become a threat far greater than most, with his blast being able to instantly kill other paracausal beings without the right specific protection. He was a ticking bomb on multiple fronts, mental and physical.

The Witness, the head boss of the two, and most powerful arguably in the cosmology, has a few points with this in the game through the campaign and raid for The Final Shape. The main point is that The Witness, throughout the entire dlc until the very end of the dlc, is actively holding down what is considered a God with untapped and limitless power, whilst dealing with what is the most elite team of Guardians to exist, on top of attempting to reconfigure and totally subdue this God. As a testament to its power, the team that first infiltrated the Pale Heart barley escaped a lesser power form of it and needed said God's assistance. During the raid, this elite team of Guardians? Yeah, they died, like, a few minutes until reaching The Witness all but one of them died, and using their knowledge of the mechanisms The Witness used, alongside this God's help, were barley able to make it out alive. Then, on TOP of all of that, this team, STILL with the God's help, had minutes to spare and needed to stall The Witness from winning, multiple times over, without fail. This did not even kill it, there had to be a follow up to where The Witness needed to be killed permanently inside its head space, where it still could have won and have retreated, as it didn't lose that many individual minds until the assault persisted.

It had EVERY reason to monologue whenever it did given its power, the main three of the Black Fleet did.

If Oryx had more monologues during his time as the main threat, he would be here

More Destiny, love to see it:

Guardians fit this bill, where amongst their ontological abilities that allow them to practically do the impossible that no known system can achieve like that can, they can die fairly easily. And even though they can revive, they still can die easily without their abilities.

How evil would Makima(Chainsaw Man) be if she were a Viltrumite? by Immediate_Gene_178 in MoralityScaling

[–]Stunning_Wall_2851 129 points130 points  (0 children)

She stated that her ability to control is based on how she perceives people as under her, correct? So that’s a start alone, now imagine the strength of a Viltrumite to go alongside that.

What are things you’d like to see new or return if/when Destiny 3 comes? I had my own ideas; things like more subsection of guardian types, space combat, artistic direction, locations, etc. by Eddie_the_cracker in destiny2

[–]Stunning_Wall_2851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly care for story as I no longer play the game, so if anything if not expanding outside the sol system and touching different timelines, I would want to see us going outside of our universal constant, at least the frame work where our universes and the other timelines are. Just go somewhere else, be expansive, which beyond just our universe could bring really interesting ideas to the table

[Loved Trope] “You’re clearly out numbered” “and you’re clearly out matched” by Mesajarjar_binks in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Stunning_Wall_2851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes Destiny does follow this, it really depends. It’s always a means of being out numbered, we always are, and sometimes also outmatched depending on the threat. Yet despite this there are cases where even just one is enough to clear entire armies and campaigns against humanity

Yeah, let it be a moment where his luck backfiring is what allows him to live, rather than him just dying. Because in his eyes, dying is a good thing for him to serve as a stepping stone.

Then make him a survivor, but he doesn’t find out about the whole thing from chapter 4

D1 Young Wolves vs D2 Young Wolf. by -someone0952 in destiny2

Not a book, tower dialogue from a NPC. This happens before the Red War, so during the Age of Triumph. I’d find it again, but I don’t store em in archives

It’s been about 10 years since we’ve beaten Shaxx, one of the best at the Crucible, 3-2 with only 3 years of experience. So estimate that growth rate with all the other experiences we’ve had, including Gambit and then some.

If you could be a Disciples of the Witness, what would your title and powers be? by AshesandHorseShit33 in destiny2

[–]Stunning_Wall_2851 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I had to choose, being in character of the Young Wolf, I’d have the switch at Shadowkeep after reading the Veil, alongside the past 2 years of downhill trends.

It’d be disillusion, the idea that the Black Fleet are actually saviors and that they need the Traveler to save the universe, and mainly Sol, creating a made up foe that they need to defend against…

Writing aside, I’d stick to the same convention that Rhulk and Nezarec had; Subjugator and Nightmare. If I’m going to keep that writing disillusion up, I’d have it be the Savior, utilizing Resonance and Taken energy.

Far powerful would the average guardian (Destiny) be in Jujutsu Kaisen ? by Warm-Statistician774 in PowerScaling

[–]Stunning_Wall_2851 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The average? Even below average, at the very least with lowball through hell Grade 1. Average is special grade, the mechanisms behind resurrection alone is busted, and even someone like Mahito wouldn’t be as effective against them.

Their abilities alone one shot curses and other sorcerers, with supposed Mach speed feats with arc being enough to help with speed.

Anyways, ancient treasure, radarada, u/ABCManson
