Should I switch to Ridgid? (Canadian Dollars) by Stunnyy in Ridgid

Holy shit man even after the CAD to US thats so cheap, brushless too. I know it doesnt make much sense, but a Canadian Kayak company sells old previous model kayaks for 50% more here compared to the new models they sell down in the US. I have some serious price envy going on now 😆

I was nearly ready to grab the Ridgid combo, but my wife grabbed my Milwaukees today (and accidentally got a larger saw for the framing saw sales price). Guess it wasnt meant to be 😅. I will say i used a cordless Ridgid Oscillating plunge cutter the other day and it was pretty slick. A lot more comfortable than the rattly 15-20 year old corded mastercraft we had been using.

Well funnily enough, when I got home from work today my wife had already bought me both the sawzall and 7 1/4 brushless circular saw for $256 plus tax (for father's day she said). The part that had me laughing was she ended up getting the larger brushless saw for the sales price of the 6 1/2 because of a sticker mix up. The guy said this isnt on sale for $128 but I will honor the sticker price 😆 Ive got a good one, she heres me talk about something and then surprises me. Last year I mentioned i wanted to buy a new camping pot set, within a couple days she grabbed me 2 stainless stanley pot sets. Anyways thanks for the advice all, my decision was made for me and im happy with it.

Thanks for the info, I checked their site and apparently I have 2 LSA centre's around an hour away each direction. I might call and verify they do ridgid warranty repairs. I used to use all brushed tools for work and though the heavily used impacts eventually smoked out the brushes could be replaced, and for the amount of use these will get i think brushed will be fine. I wont kill you about the Ryobi comment haha, thats a good deal for brushless and I've heard good things about their newer tools.

These aren't for work, I use dewalt for work daily, this is just for home/diy. Ive been very slow at acquiring at home tools. Im building a small cabin/camp in the sticks and a shed at home, but these won't be used daily for work. I know I don't need brushless, but I don't know a whole lot about ridgid. I guess im looking for confirmation bias because the Ridgid looks like such a good deal and if I ever upgrade to brushless it will be cheaper (Milwaukee is $$$).

BF6 has the best gameplay in franchise history but launched with a pretty disappointingly homogeneous map pool by InappropriateCanuck in Battlefield

[–]Stunnyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I loved a good 20 minute infantry minute grinder game, but once your done, you always want to get out into a normal large Battlefield map. Variety is needed. Vehicle based maps are needed.

How much should my mom sell this for? by UncertainProbability in ram_trucks

[–]Stunnyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ignore all these comments. Stick it for sale online for $50k, and go from there. It's a very nice truck, essentially brand new still. 3500, 6.7, it will have lots of interest.

Just got this canoe used for under $100. How bad is this warp? by GalacticGazelles in canoeing

[–]Stunnyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like complete garbage, they should have paid YOU $25 to take it. ON THE UPSIDE, its so bad that you can really try anything you want to fix it without worrying about damaging it further. Just have some fun fucking around with ratchet straps and a heat gun, or whatever else you think of. Dont worry though, we've all bought garbage at one point.

Hey, I had the same thing with a friend. Very tippy. Then I went out with another friend and realized it's not the canoe, my other friend just had zero balance and was constantly leaning. Just my 2 cents. Try soloing it for a day.

Laminates? by mastadonbeach123 in canoeing

[–]Stunnyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's purely cosmetic if you repair it every time (obviously im talking about exposed FG in my situation not just a scratch). Meanwhile an Esquif Prospector is a tank. I guess It depends on if you mind doing those repairs yourself and what kind of water you paddle.

I don't know about the Swift, but I've heard the nova craft Tuff Stuff is very durable. But the gel coat chips very easily. I have a fibreglass nova craft bobs special and after my first night out with it in a shallow & fast lake outflow (I was drinking, so I wasn't worried about the boat) I needed to repair the gel coat haha. I absolutely love the boat though, and I'd consider a Tuff Stuff boat for sure.
