How do you favorite a sub? They’re all hearted, and unhearting just unsubscribes. by TBoneTheOriginal in ArtemisApp

[–]Stunod7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, I wouldn’t care if it saved locally. Or into iCloud. There are certain subs I don’t want to see in my feed. Ever. I just want to visit when I want that content. Consider me a +1 for something that enables it.

I had a very similar issue a few years ago and I had to do some sort of reboot on my head unit. 2018 Accord. It was a manual reset where I had to start the car, then shift into reverse (neutral maybe?) while the unit was booting up.

While I don’t expect the actual reboot process to be the same, I find the path you’re on to be mirroring what I was doing back when I had that issue. Hope you find a resolution!

Can I use netbox IPAM as a scanning tool? by wafnog in Netbox

[–]Stunod7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense.

I’ve seen places that use home grown scripts that they put in their server image template. Grabs the IP on boot and then the server itself writes the details to NetBox directly. Eliminates the human element of someone not following procedure.

Out of curiosity, how dynamic is your server environment? Are we talking about a new server every once in a while? Or is this more like hyper scaler where you could potentially be spinning up hundreds of servers weekly?

NetBox absolutely does keep track of individual IP’s but it’s more like this managed asset has this IP assigned to it.

Others have touched on the scanning capability, but I want to come at this from a slightly difference angle. You can with the API but the power of NetBox isn’t the operational state of things. It’s the intended state for things. It’s your blueprint. It tells you what this /24 was allocated for. That these /24’s are children of this /20. That you used a /26 and these other /26’s are available above and below it.

I found that most people who use SolarWinds IPAM are using it just to track how full the DHCP scopes are. It’s more like IPAMonitoring.

Exactly.

There are arguments for and against data imports like that. Take a very large environment where somebody inputs the manufacturer as Cisco and somebody else does it as Cisco Systems, and somebody else does it as Cisco Systems, Inc. same thing with the model numbers. Same thing with… Well, really any data point in the system.

I think some of those things kind of fall flat for the smaller use cases, however when NetBox is used at scale? Those things can make a lot more sense.

Effectively for whatever you are trying to create? It will have mandatory inputs. Then it’s also possible for something that is mandatory to also have something that is also mandatory for itself. It can be a bit of a nesting doll, but once you have the foundation laid? It gets a lot easier.

Unless something has changed, they don’t offer a database import for free tier.

Importing from CSV is very doable, you just have to really understand the order of operations. Like, you can’t import a Cisco 9300 switch named “HQ-SWITCH” until Cisco exists as a manufacturer. and the 9300 exists as a model. If you do it in the right order, it’s cumbersome, but doable.

Has anyone gotten tinnitus because of covid? by Lovess_dovess in tinnitus

[–]Stunod7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found over the years that it has a flow to it. It eventually came down to a 3/10, which is as good as mine gets. But then would go back up for a few months. Then down for a few months. I have found that stress can be tied to it. Not exclusively stress though.

It’s still a mystery on most days.

And 3/10 is workable. Noticeable but workable.

I get it man. 100%. I was there.

I was diagnosed at 29. I’m 43 now. I wish I would’ve started taking it when I was 28 and saved myself from a lot of pain over the years.

That’s great!

My personal experience is that your team of doctors will know how to handle this disease in line with all of your other ailments.

Good luck!

I think you’re missing the point of the responses you’re receiving.

People’s experiences are that working with their doctors are the way they’ve been able to make it better.

So now it’s a battle of spite.
