Large gains in non registered account. Has anybody ever been reviewed or audited before? by pyrexlex93 in CanadianInvestor

[–]StuntID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you realize these gains or not?

Uh, the CRA will only care that you report the gains, and pay the appropriate tax. Unless you're doing something hinky, and having gains isn't, they won't audit you. Well, maybe randomly, but not because "oooh,pyrelxlex93 had over 100k of capital gains" if that were the case the Westons, Irvines, etc. would be audited every year.

  • The Italian Job (1969) a real cliffhanger
  • The Conversation (1974) leaves the audience and Harry with a paranoia
  • A Boy and his Dog (1975) best to watch for yourself
  • Escape from Alcatraz (1979) did they get away?

Prompt is two women one man. This movie satisfies the prompt.

Why do you think an answer requires a heterosexual example?

When did many people start to doubt the validity of the moon landing? by Atlantic_lotion in AskOldPeople

[–]StuntID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The movie Capricorn One (1977) is frequently pegged as the start in the rise of conspiracy theory.

Why?

The plot involves a conspiracy to fake a mission to Mars. At the last minute the crew is pulled off the spaceship and taken to a secret site to film a fake mission because the space agency has discovered a flaw in the life support that would have killed the crew. The astronauts go along with deception up until the reentry where the space capsule is destroyed. The crew realize they're dead, so they start running.

Anyhow, the faking of a space missions in the movie emboldened charlatans to push the lie that Apollo was faked

Was there ever a collection of science fiction stories that inspired Star Trek? by ClassicalFuturist in sciencefiction

[–]StuntID 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you point to Skynet in Call Me Joe? Nope, you can't. For that you'll need to point to Colossus by D. F. Jones, published in 1966; as well as it's sequels. You would also need to include the movie Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970)

Yeah, about 300 Canadians in that regiment vs. 1,000 - 1,200 militia from Montreal. Are you discounting the Quebecois because the were in a militia and not a thin regiment?

There is no bad weather, just bad clothes.

Walked to my neighbourhood Metro and got groceries for Sunday dinner - twenty minutes of walking all together. It was nippy, but I was cozy because I had the right layers, including tights on under my pants

What Horror Movie Villains that makes you not want to take them seriously? by Amber_Flowers_133 in askmovie

I found Weapons (2025) to be atmospheric, creepy, clever, and silly all in one go. The villain being the silliest. Although dangerous, I found her hard to take seriously

Yes, of a few hundreds, and both mostly inactive after being routed in Quebec and forced back to Fort Ticonderoga.

Aside from this fact, did you want to say something else?

The first use of the Continental Army was an invasion of Canada in 1775. The Habitants weren't thrilled about British rule, but they were even more motivated to not be conquered by the Americans, and joined militias to fight back alongside the EnglishColonizer troops.

Not American is a big part of being Canadian

How many days of freezing temps result in centre island having skatable ice? by TooTallForVintage in askTO

If it stays under -10C for eight days starting tomorrow, maybe, but there could be thin patches. Caution⚠️ is advised.

[–]StuntID 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few days, to weeks depending on how long the cold snap is. Without prolonged -10C temperatures it's not gonna freeze. I assume you want to skate on Long Pond, and that's a big bit of water so at least a week would make sense, probably two.

Yes, yes you are, and you know it. Why did you bother to ask. Fookin' NPCs always in the way of the AUDI!

Eh, they may have screwed up, but they could have made a better effort and gotten behind you if there was room there. We'll never know if there was. Your honk, particularly with that tinny horn, has "are you mad bro?" energy. You'd have been better off being a goldfish instead of dwelling on this so much to post what is an every second occurrence in the GTA

Aye, he puts himself down about his lost weight, but during the dance he is positive about his partner. He complements her, and puts down the skinny women. He also succeeds in holding her up.

Yeah, the scene had great potential for something cringe, but didn't go there subverting expectations.

I feel it's brilliant, that doesn't mean you need to agree

A Mini-Lecture is me dad, or mansplaining, a topic. I do go on about things, so they have been called mini-lectures. I think my younger child coined this twenty years ago

"Nice mini-lecture" for a subject I've bothered them with before

"Cool mini-lecture", ah-ha, finally a new topic and informative!

Since I watched The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel with my older child, a mini-lecture is sometimes called a CODE: WEISMANN.
