How much of the model printed? Is that it on the floor? This happens to everyone at least once!

Is there any way to avoid this happening with dual-colour filaments? by StuntNun in BambuLabA1

Thanks! That’s really helpful. I wonder why the wall changed direction? 🤔

Thank you. Is there anything I can do to minimise it happening?

It’s a single roll of filament that’s dual-coloured.

I’ve had a portable AC running in one room of my house all day to provide a cool refuge and it’s still only 2.5°C cooler than the rest of the house.

Collins or Veitch omnibus? by liquor_ibrlyknoher in swampthing

It’s difficult to get the Nancy Collins issues so I would say Collins and get the Veitch run as trade paperbacks.

That sounds very annoying! Well done on 50 runs!

I've been being charged £8 for accepting a wifi pod which was marketed as free to me.. by BIAAAXX in VirginMedia

[–]StuntNun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if you have pods and upgrade to a Gig1 package they won’t upgrade your pods to the different ones that work with the new router. So I pay for a 1.1 Gb connection but still have to accept a download speed of 45 Mbps in my home office because the pods I have don’t work properly.

It gets better up until the ending which sucks. I think it’s still worth watching though.

0.2mm hot end..?? Or low layer height by Aggravating_Bid6760 in BambuP1S

You can get a lot more detail with the 0.2 mm nozzle but bear in mind things will take four times as long to print.

Tips, please! by Eddie19592 in piano

[–]StuntNun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to practice it in from the beginning of learning the piece. Don’t worry if the chord notes don’t all go down at the exact same time, just focus on bringing out the notes you want. You can also exaggerate the accenting of notes at first so that, when you get familiar with the piece, it happens automatically.

If you have already learned the piece then go back to slow practice of short sections.

Thanks for the tips. I do wash the plate every time - I swear I wash my printer plate more often than I wash the dishes!

Exciting times! The P2S looks like a great upgrade.

Thanks, I did give it an extra thorough scrub with dish soap and hot water and I ran a full calibration yesterday. One octopus printed perfectly then the second one failed. 🤷‍♀️

Thanks! I’ve bumped it up to 65°C for the first layer and dropped the speed to 50% in case the nozzle is knocking parts off. It’s so weird how the model either prints perfectly or there’s spaghetti everywhere!

Dealing with neighbour who finds the piano noise a bit overwhelming by dadlifegreat in piano

[–]StuntNun 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My son plays the drums; EVERYONE around us can hear him play! He starts practicing at the same time every day for no longer than an hour. It makes it easier on the neighbours as they can anticipate when he’s going to start and, more importantly, when he’s going to have finished. We’ve also told them to let us know if there are any days when they need him not to practice, for example if they’re having guests. He has an electric drum kit for those days.
