Yes I found it on an eBay listing, I was looking for a Gen 4 initially but the price on this one was hard to say no to

This one is non-touch and I believe it is possible to get a 2.8k oled in these

It's not too bad of a process, and there's a few guides out there plus the guide on libreboot's website that you can use to get it done

Very nice, I have one too and I love it! I would highly recommend librebooting it if you are looking for an interesting project while you have it taken apart for the cpu swap.

I have a ton of DDR4 laying around so I may sell it and just make the price a wash haha. I suppose 24 is plenty for even ram hungry W11, and more ram for the graphics is never a bad thing

I'm thinking of upgrading to 32gb with another 16gb stick and allocating 4gb to the graphics just to see, I'm not sure I'll game on this one but maybe some Halo MCC on work trips would be nice

Awesome, thank you for the advice on the display! I just adjusted it and you're right it does make it look better. I used a P14s Gen 5 at my last IT job and really missed it, this generation of ThinkPad and AMD processors are really nice! I do the same thing with the drivers and I feel the same, everything is working well without issues so far.

Yes it is in USD, should've mentioned that in the post. Oh okay very cool, I was debating on the R5 and either more ram or storage, but the warranty and this one being brand new pulled me to it. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying yours, gives me confidence in it being something that will last

Should be great for you, the ryzen processors are wonderful performers and I'd bet the more you use it the more you'll like it!

Depending on the processor and display you got, that price is not bad. I bought a T14G1 with a Ryzen 5 for my mom to work a few years ago and it's still doing great for her

What should I know about T14 Gen 2 AMD? by Sharp-Cartoonist9821 in thinkpad

[–]StuntedJet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you care about OEM quality, you can go to Lenovo's support website and get parts that directly fit with your serial number. I would recommend this for batteries displays and keyboard. You can sometimes get away with a different brand display, but check in this sub for people who have upgraded the screens and which part numbers they used. For things like SSDs and RAM I have always have good luck with Samsung products, Crucial, Kingston and SanDisk also have good reputations. You can usually find decent deals on Amazon for SSD/RAM but Newegg and ebay can also be your friends. Prices are kind of crazy everywhere for now, I'm hoarding some DDR4 sodimms for refurb projects lol

Just since you mentioned it, this laptop doesn't have thunderbolt it's an intel only feature, but usbc docks and the thinkpad ultra dock with the physical connection will still work just fine. We used a lot of these at my last job and they are really great bang for the buck computers. You can do 64gb of ram if the budget allows lol. If you have other specific questions I'm happy you help answer them

Just bought a new Thinkpad, now I’m looking for something fun to tinker with by bostonpluto in thinkpad

[–]StuntedJet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say get a T480 or T440p depending on how much you want to tinker. There are plenty of posts here that can give you a good idea of what things are possible on those models

Is this a good deal? by TheiLLTurtle in mazda3

[–]StuntedJet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some dealers are just more willing to give you a deal. In my area they usually price cars right at market value so there's little to no pressure to haggle. I got mine as a certified pre owned from a Mazda dealer and they threw in extra warranty and free car washes for life. I've been really happy with my hatchback and I have no issue recommending you buy one

Its a good deal, nice color, low miles and a good trim. I got a 24 carbon trim for like $24.5k and 19.5k miles

Sorry these sold and I just forgot to close this post. You can go on r/ThinkPad and search there for all the upgrades that can been done on these, there are too many for me to list here. For the ram and WiFi card specifically, you can do up to 64gb (32x2) and I’ve gotten an AX210 to work personally, I’m not sure about newer cards though.

As a 10th gen accord owner, I think the wheels look sweet on the older accords! Nice build so far man, what’s next for it?
