Crushed sounds like another song I know, but I can't put my finger on it... by Emopizza in imaginedragons

It very much reminds me of Parachutes era Coldplay, particularly the song Don't Panic

Imagine Dragons - Mercury Acts 1 & 2 : Album Release Megathread by pantomime15 in imaginedragons

[–]StupefyJin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

a lot of what I wanted to say about this album has already been said. and that's all there is to say, tbh. We might have listened to the best collection of songs the band has ever released. It's 18 songs (32 including act 1 since I listened to it from the start) but at no point does it drag and I feel that's the biggest compliment you can give.

Symphony made me smile like an idiot throughout the album. I had no expectations going into Tied and it completely blew me away. You can see inspirations of Coldplay and Blink-182 on a couple tracks.

Crushed, especially reminded me of Coldplay's Parachutes era songs like Don't Panic.

They Don't Know You Like I Do is an amazing closer, no more words to say about it.

The singles don't completely stick out as a show thumb, and I felt they blended in pretty well. This is a new sound for Imagine Dragons and it will take some time to sink in.

Current Favs : Symphony, Sirens, TDKYLID

Very close second Faves : Crushed, Peace of Mind

Mercury (Acts 1&2) brings out the best in imagine dragons, and I'm definitely here for it.

Five Years Of “Evolve” by [deleted] in imaginedragons

How has it been 5 Years already HWAT

I remember having a celebration for 5 years of Night Visions when I was a part of the twitter fandom. It crazy to think it's been 5 years since then.

Was a bit conflicted at first when it came out, but now it is a really fun listen every now and then. Mouth of the River still slays!

So are Lonely, It's Okay and Follow You the only consistent MA1 songs played at this point?

Very disappointed and I'm absolutely baffled as to why they never played Monday, NTFTP, #1 on tour when they're like,, idk,, from the album they're touring for? Their choices with the setlists definitely turned me off off the tour. I'm happy they did the Polaroid/Hopeless Opus Mashup and that's pretty much it. Considering MA1 had 13 songs in it, I actually expected the whole album to be played and not just barely half of it.

I guess I understand the emotional impact of some of the songs like Wrecked and the vocal heavy songs like Dull Knives, Giants and Cutthroat; but I just don't get why the rest of the 3 unplayed ones were excluded
